Family members of a Dublin man who recently passed away were pleasantly surprised when they played a message he had pre-recorded for his funeral.

Defense Forces veteran Shay Bradley was heard in the message calling out as if he was stuck in his coffin at the ceremony held in Dublin over the weekend, Fox News reports. “Hello, hello – let me out!” Bradley is heard shouting and knocking as if on the wood of his coffin.

As the recording continued to play, he was heard saying, "Where the f*** am I? Let me out, let me out. It’s f - ing dark in here. Is that the priest I can hear. This is Shay I’m in the box. No in f - ing front of you. I’m dead." Shay then sang, "Hello again hello, hello I just called to say goodbye."

Bradley's loved ones at the funeral couldn't help but laugh and cry at his darkly humorously prank. Andrea Bradley, his daughter, shared the footage on social media where went viral, saying this was her father's dying wish.

“Always the pranksters, ya got them good Poppabear and gave us all a laugh just when we needed it!! I will love you forever,” she wrote in the caption, alongside the hashtag “shayslastlaugh.” Bradley had apparently pre-recorded the message after learning he was dying of a "long illness" and wanted to make his friends and family crack up one last time, Andrea said.

Andrew also said her family has received several endearing responses from those touched by the video since she shared it online.

“Myself and my Family are overwhelmed with the Amazing response and comments we have received regarding my dad's funeral, he truly is a legend and was the most amazing man!!! He would be overjoyed to know how many smiles and laughs he has given to everyone. Thank you all,” she wrote.
