Millionaire financier Ben Goldsmith's 15-year-daughter dies in quad bike accident on family farm
In tragic news for Goldsmith and Rothschild dynasties, the 15-year-old daughter of millionaire financier Ben Goldsmith and his ex-wife and banking heiress Kate Rothschild lost her life in a gruesome quad bike accident. Iris Annabel Goldsmith, crashed in a field next to the family farm soon after which ambulances rushed to their home at around 3.15p.m. in North Brewham, Somerset, England.
Recounting the horrific sight, a local from the village told Metro: "Everyone here who’s heard what happened is devastated by this. The whole village has been affected by this, as you can imagine. Our hearts go out to her parents and family. It’s a very sensitive time."
A high flying student at Wycombe Abbey, Buckinghamshire, Iris had just started her summer break after studying for her GCSEs before the accident.
A family friend spoke to MailOnline about the young girl and said: "This is the most awful accident. Iris was a complete firecracker – an absolute delight. Everyone in the family loved her to bits. She was beautiful, charming, intelligent, wonderful company and absolutely the loveliest person you could meet. Ben and Kate are completely devastated. They are numbed to their core and united in their grief. Iris captured the charm of Ben and the sense of Bohemian charisma of Kate. All the family are rallying around Ben and Kate."
Worth billions of pounds together, the two dynasties have had much influence over the UK's political and financial circles. It was Iris's mother Kate who became the link between the most powerful families in the world. Iris was the first child of Ben and Kate, who are owners of a joint fortune of over £300million ($37.36mn), according to the report in MailOnline. The former couple also have two sons – Frank, 13, and Issac, 11.
Ben married the heiress to the Rothschild banking empire in 2003. However, the two separated in 2012 when Kate started dating rapper Jay Electronica. Two years after the split, Ben married catering company boss Jemima Jones, with whom he has two children, Eliza and Arlo.
