Irena Mausner: Holocaust survivor sues son for siphoning $2M from her and trying to steal her properties
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: A holocaust survivor has claimed her son swiped cash and stock of nearly $2 million from her and tried to steal her California properties worth millions of dollars. Irene Mausner who is recovering from a stroke and colon cancer has built a portfolio of stocks, cash, investments, and real estate worth $5 million with her late husband Jack Mausner.
Their 62-year-old son Ian O Mausner was left to manage her wealth. However, her Manhattan Federal Court lawsuit explained that her son engaged in "an array of theft, fraud, and deceit," and described his conduct as “illegal and nothing short of outrageous,” Irena has sought unspecified damages from Ian in her lawsuit, reported New York Post.

Who is Irena Mausner?
Irene Mausner, a retired Manhattan prosthodontist was 3 years old during the start of World War II. The now 87-year-old woman hid in a convent in Poland's Warsaw to survive the Holocaust. The portfolio of cash and stock she built was along with her husband who worked as a Chanel executive and died in 2014.
What are the charges against Ian O Mausner?
Ian, who appears as a philanthropist is a Wall Streeter and is the author of a book on divorce. According to the lawsuit, on the deeds of a $2.4 million Carlsbad mansion and a $2.2 million San Diego apartment which were jointly owned by him and his mother later forged her name and he took sole control in his attempt to sell the properties without her knowledge, according to New York Post.
Into a Robinhood investment account, Mausner allegedly transferred his mom's dough worth $1.7 million under his name while he gave his mother false documents and showed that the funds were still in Irena's control. The shift of money took place from 2018 to 2022, claimed her lawsuit.
Ian is also accused of selling Irena's shares of stock in Colgate-Palmolive and stealing $50,000. From her retirement account, he has swiped $50, 000 and as per court papers he took up credit card charges of more than $13,000 for movies, vacation home rentals, and California Closets and also stole an amount of $7,000 from Irena's long-term insurance.
According to her legal filing, Ian lashed out at his mother after he was charged with the allegations and allegedly told her she was the one who is being "truly reprehensible and unforgivable." and also passed mean statements on her struggle in life as he said, "you asked me why God has done this to you . . . and perhaps we now know why." she claimed in the litigation.
"His actions have become more troubling with the passage of time, including an array of theft, fraud, and deceit, combined with his confronting his elderly mother while she was in a medical rehabilitation facility and threatening his sister," read the lawsuit.
Ian blames his sister as reason behind the allegations
Ian, the one-time capital management and financial advisor has also previously been accused of wrongdoing in 2013 when he ran when the Securities and Exchange Commission was run afoul by him when he allegedly got involved ina cherry-picking scheme. Irena claimed that he had to disgorge $670,000 later.
Denying the allegations by his mother, Ian blamed his sibling for his strained relationship with his mother stemmed from his sister's jealousy. Talking to the New York Post, Ian said, "It’s a very sad tale. It’s all not true," and added that the rift with his mother took place after his sister allegedly convinced her to hand over her power of attorney after Irena suffered a "very serious stroke." He said, "It’s my sister who is really driving all this. … I’ll fight this."
