Teen who sold his kidney to buy an iPhone left bedridden for life after complications from surgery
Wang sold his right kidney in China when he was just 17 years old after he found middlemen online who conducted the surgery at an uncertified clinic
According to reports in Chinese media, a young man who sold one of his kidneys on the black market as a teenager in a bid to buy a new iPhone and iPad is now bedridden, disabled, and in need of constant care.
The teenager, who is now 25, desperately wanted to prove to his classmates that he was trendy. However, his cash-strapped parents could afford neither the iPhone nor the iPad to realize his dreams. Wang was just 17 when he sold his kidney on the black market for 22,000 yuan ($3,226) after having it removed in an underground clinic, Daily Mail reports.
