Internet trolls xQc as he buys Dior x Air Jordon 1 worth $10K for his friend: ‘This is just dumb’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On October 20, 2023, Felix, also known as xQc, hosted an in-real-life (IRL) live stream alongside popular GTA RP streamers Lucas 'Budda' and Omie.
During the live stream, a particular moment drew considerable attention when xQc purchased a pair of Dior x Air Jordan 1 low sneakers valued at over $10,000 as a gift for his friend, Omie.
Numerous comments have flooded the video on the streamer's official YouTube clips channel.
It appears that this action didn't sit well with online users, as many of them expressed the view that, despite the sneakers' rarity, they ultimately amount to nothing more than a pair of Nikes.
xQc gifts a pair of Dior x Air Jordan 1 Low to Omie
During the IRL Kick broadcast, xQc, Buddha, and Omie were browsing through Urban Necessities, a store known for reselling sneakers and offering a variety of lifestyle products.
Their attention was captured by a display featuring a collection of expensive and unique shoes.
The content creators became intrigued by the Dior x Air Jordan Low and High sneakers, particularly after discovering that the store stocked highly sought-after footwear such as Off-White Air Jordan 1s and Travis Scott Air Jordans 1s.
The salesperson disclosed that the high-end, low-top shoe was valued at $13,000 when questioned about its price.
After some negotiation, xQc ended up purchasing the sneaker for Omie for $11,000.
During a conversation with his friend, the former Overwatch was heard saying, "Oh, that's not that bad. You want them or not? Yeah, $11k is fine. If they fit you, if they don't fit, it is whatever. Go, go, go. Don't talk about it."
Fans react to xQc's shopping clip
As mentioned, xQc's gift to Omie has gotten wide attention on the Internet. At the time of writing, the clip had more than 31K views and several comments.
A user wrote, "$15K…for shoes...? Restarted."
The second user wrote, "Wasn't 15K they got the price down, still ultra expensive though, no matter how rare they are just Nike's at the end of the day."
Another user wrote, "and his head mod got only $10K face-blue."
A user wrote, "Yet he can't afford to rent a scooter or bike." The fifth user wrote, "I get that he's rich and he can buy whatever he wants, but $15K for just shoes is just dumb. Yes, it's for looks and whatever, but it's usually just for flexing. Who cares, shoes are shoes. At least don't put them on shelves and let them crumble over the years."
Another user said, "What a leech, it should've been me", while the seventh user wrote, "15K for a shoe that probably only gets worn a couple of times"
