NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: During a Fox News program, Catherine, Princess of Wales, was referred to as the "Princess of Whales," due to a painfully embarrassing spelling error. During the morning segment of America's Newsroom, which was hosted by co-hosts Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino, a visual error that incorrectly spelled her official royal title took place.

Around the three-minute mark of the show, the co-anchors were reviewing their predictions from 2022 and making further ones for 2023. The Princess of Wales, 40, did not announce her pregnancy in 2022, as Perino had planned. "However, she did adopt the title Princess of Whales after Queen Elizabeth's Passing," exactly the words that showed up on the monitor, as per The Daily Mail.

Hemmer and Perino continued the program by revealing their predictions for 2023, which included a trip to the border by President Joe Biden, the outlawing of TikTok and a championship victory for the Cincinnati Bengals. Since its inception in February 2007, the Fox morning show, which airs Monday through Friday from 9 am to 11 am, focuses on current affairs, political analysis and interviews.

Attentive viewers caught the spelling error right away

Internet soon had a "whale of a time" roasting the news corporation for the apparent gaffe. One person took to Twitter and wrote, "Ok, I know I saw this. I couldn't believe it, but it's true. This was on a screen, on Fox news. " The Princess of Whales". WTH? And these news people are supposed to be educated?" Another user quipped, "If she saw it she probably laughed." One user tweeted, "Spelling on Fox News graphics is frequently entertaining." Another user wrote, "Fox New referring to Kate Middleton as the Princess of Whales was not on my bingo card."

Kate is a senior member of the royal family. She is married to William, the Prince of Wales, who is the heir apparent to the British throne. The couple has three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis since their 2011 wedding. Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, Kate was made the Princess of Wales. Prince of Wales is the title given to the heir to the throne, therefore when William assumed the position, his wife Kate also received the title. She is the only person since Princess Diana to bear the prestigious royal title.
