The ongoing protests and riots in the wake of George Floyd's death have now spread across all the cities in the US. The peaceful demonstrations took a violent turn when police took the matter into their hands and attacked protestors with tears gas and rubber bullets. As the riots erupted in different cities, looting and shoplifting of some of the biggest brands began a common sight.

When SoHo in Manhattan was swept clean by looters who fled cops after stealing bags of clothes, shoes, and accessories, a few took to Twitter to express that the big brands deserved this fate as they always cater to wealthy white customers and treat ill-treat black people. Now,  Twitter is witnessing yet another trend where the internet users have called out the high-end fashion line Brandy Melville, which is famous for creating clothes that fit only a particular size. Many comments were directed towards supporting small establishments instead and boycotting big brands for good.

One tweet read, “Do NOT support urban outfitters, dollskill, or brandy melville” followed by “Everyone who's shocked about brandy.....their basic ass ugly "ONE SIZE" clothes are meant for white skinny bitches”

“Iexpect y'all to keep the same energy w nike, not just the the brands that are only out there for the skinny white girls” said another. Adding to the above tweets, one user wrote, "F**k fast fashion, buy secondhand and from small businesses"

Meanwhile, one of them noted that even the Kardashians are known for making money off of their luxury brands and shouldn’t be encouraged. “Sad tht ppl didn’t know these companies are SCUM & always have been! While we’re at it, don’t click Kardash*an content either! Unfollow. Understand that’s how they get ur money. They don’t deserve ur money or clicks. PERIODT. Support those who fight against racism ACTIVELY,” read one tweet.

Brandy Melville is also being slammed for promoting toxic body image among teenagers with their extra skinny clothing line and allegedly donating towards Trump’s re-election. One Twitter user said, “Y’all are shocked about brandy,,, like where have you been these past few years. if giving young teens ed/awful body images isn’t enough, they donate to trump re-elect. like what more do you need.”
