CHESTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA: As the search for fugitive Danelo Cavalcante continues, reality star Dog the Bounty Hunter has thrown his hat into the fray.

TMZ reports that Duane Chapman wants to get involved in the case and has been in touch with the locals.

Moreover, he is also monitoring the search and contacting the police.

The outlet reports that before flying out to Pennsylvania, the 70-year-old wants to get a 'better sense of the lay of the land.'

When did Danelo Cavalcante escape from prison?

Danelo Cavalcante has been on the loose for almost two weeks after escaping prison in broad daylight.

The camera footage captured him ‘crab walking’ between two walls, followed by scaling a fence and jumping over razor wire during his breakout.

The convict managed to steal a rifle from a homeowner on Monday night, September 11. The homeowner was inside his residence and shot him seven times, but he managed to run without getting injured, as per Bivens.

Cavalcante escaped from prison on August 31. He was serving a life sentence for the murder of his ex-girlfriend. He was about to be transferred to Chester County Prison, 30 miles west of Philadelphia, reports Daily Mail.

Who is involved in search operation for Danelo Cavalcante?

Pennsylvania State Police Lt Col George Bivens said that over 500 law enforcement agents are on the ground searching for the Cavalcante.

State police, on its official Facebook page, wrote, “He is armed. Residents in the area are asked to lock all doors and windows, secure vehicles, and remain indoors. Do not approach. Call 911 if seen.”

He added, “We are obviously very concerned that Cavalcante has or will attempt to steal another vehicle to facilitate his escape."

"This most recent incident is a reminder that he will take advantage of any opportunity to obtain items he needs," he added.

Cavalcante killed Walter Junior in Figueiropolis, Tocantins, on November 5, 2017, and then was able to escape from Brasilia–President Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport soon.

"Chester County Detectives and the Pennsylvania State Police are conducting a thorough county-wide search, and prison officials are conducting an internal investigation," the DA's office said as per the outlet.e

Expressing optimism, Bivens said, "I'm not going to comment on what assistance he may or may not be receiving, but we take steps to try and minimize or eliminate that assistance, and that's exactly what we've done up until this point."

“In the end, I’m confident we’ll capture him and bring him back into the criminal justice system,” Bivens added. “I do believe he’s still in Pennsylvania," he continued.
