‘We need proof’: Internet puzzled as Carole Baskin claims her ‘dead’ husband Don Lewis was found alive

TAMPA, FLORIDA: Don Lewis, the ex-husband of the 'Tiger King' star Carole Baskin has been found alive over a year ago as per her claims but the revelation is receiving attention only now and social media users are confused at the trending viral news. In an interview with ITV's 'This Morning' talk show in November 2021, Baskin, claimed that Lewis who has been missing since August 19, 1997, and was later declared legally dead in 2002, was actually found alive and well.

“One of the really exciting things that came out of ‘Tiger King 2’ is that they produced a letter from Homeland Security and it says that a special agent in charge with the FBI at Homeland Security reached out to the sheriff’s detective George [Jorge] Fernandez, which means this had to have happened after 2002 because Homeland Security wasn’t even around until 2002,” the 61-year-old 'Big Cat Rescue' owner told the media outlet at the time and alleged that the Department of Homeland Security has been in touch with him. “And they said that my husband, Don Lewis, is alive and well in Costa Rica,” the animal activist revealed.

The Florida millionaire Lewis and Baskin got married in Tampa, Florida in 1991. Baskin has denied allegations that she has a role in her former lover who went missing while they were married and previously claimed that she has never heard from him again since his mysterious disappearance, according to CBS News. 

'The whole thing is wild'

Confused and shocked at Baskin revealing about her ex-husband being alive and well in Costa Rica, social media is flooded with comments on whether she was lying. One user wrote, "They didn’t find him. The only source to say he was found is Carole Baskin herself. Besides the word of Baskin - there is no evidence her husband is alive today" and another tweeted, "Nah. We need proof."

"I heard about this, but then also read that the only “source” confirming that he’s alive is Carole herself?? The whole thing is wild," a puzzled user wrote and another asked, "Wait…. so he was watching the Netflix series right along with us, just sipping his tea or what? Cause I wanna know."

Finding it unbelievable, someone tweeted, "They need to put her on a flight to Costa Rica, so she can show where her husband at, cause she is the only one saying there where he is," and another remarked, "Send Joe to Costa Rica to find him or it’s a lie Carole"

"She said it was true but there hasn’t been any evidence to back it up so, I dunno if it’s real," a user opined and someone asked, "When? Are you messing with us?" while another user wrote, "Show a current picture or she lying again"
