WASHINGTON, DC: Over the last week, Rep Jim Jordan failed to get the desired number of votes in the first and second ballot as the race for Speakership continues.

A third ballot, which was scheduled on Thursday, switched to Jordan hitting pause and backing Rep Patrick McHenry, as a temporary solution.

BBC News reported that Jordan told the reporters on Thursday, “I'm still running for Speaker and I plan to go to the floor and get the votes and win this race.”

However, House Republicans weren’t open to the resolution presented by Jordan, and have pushed for another Speaker vote. According to CNN’s most recent report on the matter, the next House Speaker vote will take place on Friday.

Meanwhile, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity, who has showcased his support for Jordan over the last month, faced ridicule after he shared a report, “Jordan cancels third Speaker vote.”

Sean Hannity says ‘Third time’s a harm’

On X, formerly known as Twitter, after Rep Jim Jordan announced temporarily backing Rep Patrick McHenry as the third vote for Speaker did not take place, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity wrote, “*CONSERVATIVES UNLOAD ON X*”

He also quoted a Conservative, “A warning for the GOP. If you allow Hakeem Jeffries to become Speaker instead of Jim Jordan, I will do everything possible to ensure you all lose in the Primary election next year.”

Attached was an article titled, “THIRD TIME'S A HARM? Jordan Cancels Third Speaker Vote, Backs Move to Empower McHenry.”

In this, Jordan’s move on Thursday was explained, “House Judiciary Chairman and Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan has canceled the third vote for Speaker of the House after failing to hit the magic number the first two times around; he will back a temporary solution including backing Speaker Pro Tempore Patrick McHenry through January.”

Hannity also added, “Prominent conservative voices didn’t take the news well on social media,” along with posts on X from Conservatives who expressed their disappointment with Jordan’s move.
