Internet mocks Fox News host Bret Baier after he defends himself for 'losing his cool' during GOP debate
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The first GOP debate, hosted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was moderated by Fox News hosts Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier.
On August 30, Baier responded to claims made against him, in relation to the debate.
A user on X Baier if he regretted losing his cool against Governor of Florida and GOP candidate, Ron DeSantis.
After Baier thanked the user for watching the debate, the Fox News anchor went on to defend himself but faced severe backlash for the same.
Bret Baier shuts down accusations regarding GOP Debate
The user asked, “Do you regret losing your cool against @RonDeSantis? Do you think it’s the moderator's job to interject that aggressively with polling that hasn’t been very accurate as of late?”
To that question, Baier pinpointed the moment of disagreement he had with DeSantis.
He wrote, “Thanks for watching - I didn’t lose my cool. The Governor said he didn’t want to talk about the former President at all and it was a waste of time."
Baier added, "We had the one section and he is leading the primary field by 20-30-40 points depending on the poll - depending on the state.”

He further said, “I was stating facts that the former President and his legal issues are a big part of this race whether he was there or not. Thanks”
Internet responds to Bret Baier’s defense
After Baier defended the allegations of losing his “cool,” the internet largely disagreed with the Fox News host.
One person wrote, “So what we saw Bret was an Illusion? Is that what you're stating?”
Another said, “Your response was unprofessional. You may not like it but that’s how you were perceived. But I’ve heard several snide comments from you regarding DeSantis recently so I wasn’t surprised.”
