Internet mocks Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for bringing back his 'scary' smile at third GOP debate
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis once again found himself in the spotlight, this time for bringing back his now-infamous smile during Wednesday night's third Republican presidential debate.
It seems like the presidential hopeful has a hard time flashing his pearly whites and his awkward attempt at the gesture, which first went viral during the initial GOP debate.
Ron DeSantis' awkward smile takes center stage at third GOP debate
Ron DeSantis' unexpected smile shined through as he was closing out the debate. The Florida Governor was seen awkwardly pushing his tongue against his teeth, and it didn't go unnoticed.
An X (formerly Twitter) user uploaded a video of his supposed grin with the caption, "Ron DeSantis closed out the debate by showing America he’s still unable to smile like a normal person."

However, it wasn't the only time when DeSantis donned a smile that can only be described as "scary." In one such moment, he was seen forcing a smile, leading to a flurry of mockery from netizens who found it to be meme-worthy.
One person shared the moment on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "This man is in pain. I’m just not sure if it’s from standing in heels or because he’s losing so bigly," poking fun at the theories of DeSantis wearing lifts inside his cowboy boots.

Internet has a field day over Ron DeSantis' smile
Soon after the third GOP debate, social media platforms buzzed with humorous takes on Ron DeSantis' smile.
One wrote, "I still don't understand how Ron DeSantis got this far without any of the necessary skills of a decent politician. At the very least a candidate should be able to smile in a way that doesn't look like a health crisis."
Another said, "Is he forcing a smile? I think after he was deemed "unlikeable", his handlers told him he had to smile more...lol! There it is!"
"An animatronic character in any Disneyland ride breaking down and trying to kill you is actually less scary than Ron DeSantis trying to smile," stated a person.
Someone else inquired, "What is up with the tongue smile attempt thing DeSantis keeps doing," while another quipped, "If DeSantis has a smile coach they need to be fired. If he doesn’t have one, it was a giant mistake. He seriously reminds me of a kindergartener smiling for their first school picture."
