NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Monday, October 2, former President Donald Trump and his team released an official campaign statement calling for the Republican National Committee (RNC) to halt GOP debates and instead prioritize the issue of election integrity.

The two advisers to the GOP frontrunner’s campaign, Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita reportedly said to “immediately cancel the upcoming debate in Miami and end all future debates in order to refocus its manpower and money on preventing Democrats’ efforts to steal the 2024 election.”

Following this event, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X, formerly Twitter to update his followers on Trump’s statement.

However, the internet did not seem pleased with Trump and brutally mocked him after Hannity’s tweet.

Sean Hannity reports on Donald Trump’s team wanting to end GOP debates

On X, formerly Twitter, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity wrote, “The Republican National Committee should immediately cancel the upcoming debate in Miami and end all future debates in order to refocus its manpower and money on preventing Democrats’ efforts to steal the 2024 election."

In his tweet, he featured an article from its official website titled, “WRAP IT UP! Team Trump Tells RNC to End Debates, Acknowledge Reality [READ IT].”

In the article, ex-POTUS’s campaign managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita said, “Anything less, along with other reasons not to cancel, are an admission to the grassroots that their concerns about voter integrity are not taken seriously.”

In their statement, Trump and his team declared that if the Republican National Committee (RNC) were to go ahead with the debate, it would be seen as evidence that "national Republicans are more concerned about helping Joe Biden than ensuring a safe and secure election."

Internet claims Donald Trump is ‘afraid to debate’

Soon after Sean Hannity reported on Donald Trump and his team issuing a statement to the RNC calling for an end to GOP debates, the internet quickly blasted at ex-POTUS.

One person wrote, “Wow! Trump really is afraid to debate the others!”

Another added, “He should debate so his voters know if he truly can focus on America's problems instead of his own.  Personally, I think he's afraid of getting shredded.”

A third person simply slammed Trump, saying, “Here’s a better idea. Trump should withdraw,” while another said, “Translation: come on guys the clock is ticking on my freedom and money, make me the candidate now and save my far ass.”

Several others commented on Trump's non-participation in the previous debates, with one more stating, “It seems Trump can't handle competition.” A fifth person wrote, “Trumps a coward.”

Another person believed, “The real reason is that Donald is AFRAID of debating. He would fail miserably if he did anything without a teleprompter.”
