NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Wednesday, September 20, House Republicans clashed with Attorney General Merrick Garland, accusing him and the Justice Department of the “weaponization of the department’s work in favor of President Joe Biden‘s son, Hunter Biden,” as reported by AP News.

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity doubled down on this accusation as he delivered an entire speech on ‘Hannity’.

The clip was posted on Fox News' YouTube channel with the caption, “Fox News host Sean Hannity reacts to Attorney General Merrick Garland's "explosive" hearing on Capitol Hill in Wednesday's opening monologue.”

In the segment, Hannity claimed that “more than half of the country no longer trusts Garland.”

AP News also reported that Attorney Garland is “overseeing two cases against Donald Trump, the first former president to face criminal charges, and another against the sitting president’s son.”

Sean Hannity attacks Attorney General Merrick Garland

On ‘Hannity’, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity started his segment with his report on Attorney General Merrick Garland, overseeing Hunter Biden’s case. Hannity began by saying that Garland “needs to be impeached.”

He then spoke about the “explosive hearing” at Capitol Hill, where Garland was confronted by Rep Jim Jordan. Hannity claimed, “More than half of the country no longer trusts Garland, and for good reason.”

Hannity continued, “Biden’s so-called justice system has become weaponized and politicized like the FBI, beyond belief. Unequal prosecution, unequal sentencing, unequal application of our laws, we don’t have equal justice under the law.”

Hannity also played a clip of the Capitol Hill hearing, where Garland was asked if he had “personal contact” with anyone at the FBI headquarters about the Hunter Biden investigation.

Garland took a moment to answer as he said, “I don’t recollect the answer to that question, but the FBI works for the justice department.” After being pressed further, Garland said, “I don’t believe that I did.”

As soon as the clip ended, Hannity mocked Garland and said, “Wilful ignorance was the theme of the day for Merrick Garland.” He added, “Garland didn’t seem to know much about anything, to be honest.”

Internet trusts Merrick Garland over Sean Hannity

As Fox News anchor Sean Hannity shared his report on Attorney General Merrick Garland on X, formerly Twitter, one user said, “I trust Garland over you any day,” and another wrote, “Fox damage our great Attorney General! They need to be sued!”

“You are a liar Sean. Just like your MAGA gang, about 15% of a population of 340 million people, don’t trust him. The Rest of us (85%) DO! Especially when TRUMPS GO TO prison!” responded one user.

One user also wrote, “Some Americans don’t trust him, but that’s because dishonest people like Hannity have been lying about him, making groundless accusations. And Sean has a history of lying. Cost Fox almost $1 billion.”

The internet focused on Hannity’s use of the word “trust” as one person said, “More than half of the country does not trust you, Hannity!” and another wrote, “The majority of Fox viewers left because they don’t trust Fox to tell the truth…”
