NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: As Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial continues, the former President was fined $10,000 for speaking disparagingly about the judge's law clerk.

‘The View’ co-hosts have often debriefed on moments from Trump’s trial, and this time around, Whoopi Goldberg, who continues to not mention Trump’s name, has a suggestion regarding the amount that he is being fined.

As Goldberg shared her suggestion, while also taking a dig at Trump, the internet flocked to the comment section in agreement with ‘The View’ host.

Whoopi Goldberg says Donald Trump 'might shut up’ if he's fined higher

On ‘The View,’ moderator and co-host Whoopi Goldberg introduced the topic to the rest of the panel, “You know, one of the most interesting things on television lately has been all of the trial footage, and it was another bad day in court for you-know-who. The judge fined him 10 grand for violating…”

Goldberg had to pause for a moment as the audience cheered, and she said, “You know he just put his hand in his pocket for that. I think he should be fined 100 grand, but that's just me. I'm not the law.”

With a dramatic effect, Goldberg then explained the fine, and the aftermath, “He was fined when he disparaged a law clerk, but it didn't stop him from spewing more nonsense when he stomped out of the courtroom. Take a look.”

‘The View’ then played a clip of Donald Trump outside the courtroom, where he said, “The witness just admitted that we won the trial, and the judge should end this trial immediately. Thank you.”

After expressing her shock at Trump’s statement, Goldberg said, “You know, every time we say something that is mistaken, 5 million people come down on us. You need to correct that.”

She continued, “I would like the judge to say, ‘You know what, D, I think from now on, every time you disparage or run over some other law that we've…gag order we've put in, it's going to cost you $10 million.”

Goldberg explained, “Well, because I feel like he thinks 5, 10,000 doesn't mean anything. 5, 10, so he just keeps doing it. But if you had to put your hand in your pocket and find a quick 10 million, I think he might shut up.”

After Whoopi Goldberg suggested a bigger amount of fine for Donald Trump, the internet was quick to respond.

One person wrote, “I agree with Whoopi. How does it set any kind of example or teach anyone a lesson otherwise? If you don't make it hurt and find them MORE than they can pay, the acts will be repeated.”

“Whoopi, you are so right! The fine is a deterrent and $10,000 as you stated will not deter him from doing the same thing over and over again,” commented one user, and another said, “Whoopi is right.”

People continued to agree with Goldberg, “I’m with Whoopi on this one,” wrote one user, and another said, “I agree with Whoopie he should be fined $100000.”

Some viewers also pointed out Goldberg’s expressions, “Love Whoopie’s expressions and even more her solution.”
