COHASSET, MASSACHUSETTS: Cops are actively looking for a Massachusetts mother who vanished on New Year's day. The mother of three children failed to catch a work flight to Washington DC. Ana Walshe was last seen at her home in Cohasset at around 4 am. Police Chief William Quigley said there's been "no electronic footprint of her" at all since January 1 and the airline has also confirmed that she "did not board a plane this week."

Quigley explained during the press conference that a relative saw the 39-year-old mother get into a ride share to Logan Airport in Boston for a flight to Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC. However, the police have not been able to confirm it. As per Quigley, this is a missing person's case as of now and the police have searched her home in Massachusetts as well as her townhouse in Washington. The investigators are hard at work and have already used K-9s to search the grounds of the family's home. On the other hand, Walshe's husband, Brian, pleaded guilty in 2021 to selling two fake Andy Warhol paintings to a South Korean buyer for $80,000 in US District Court in Boston. The police explained that Walshe's disappearance remained unrelated to that. As per reports, Brian is cooperating with the investigators and claims he was asleep when his wife left.

After Walshe's disappearance, there was a fire at a Cohasset home on Jerusalem Road where Walshe lived until a few months ago. The police did not confirm whether this incident was in relation to the missing mother's case. Quigley said, "Very strange coincidence, but we have the fire marshal's office and our detectives will be assigned here to investigate this fire. We'll get to the bottom of things." He also quipped, "It's not normal she is missing. We automatically feel she is in danger by the mere fact she is missing, other than that there is no evidence to support anything illegal."

Moreover, Walshe's phone has been switched off since the first day of the year. Quigley told WCVB, "It was reported that she was trying to catch a flight during the early morning hours from Logan to D.C. There was a flight booked. She did have a ticket issued for Jan. 3. She never got on that flight. Life is challenging sometimes. She has small kids – the oldest being 6 and the youngest being 2 – the holidays, working out of state – sometimes life gets chaotic, and it may be a case where she needed a break, and if that’s the case, we need a call from her or someone who has talked to her."

If anyone has seen Walshe or has any information regarding her whereabouts, they are urged to contact the Cohasset Police Department, Detective Harrison Schmidt, at 781-383-1055 x6108 or email hschmidt@cohassetpolice.com.
