Internet hails 'The View's Whoopi Goldberg's take on Trump's last moments as POTUS, but it's 'breastfeeding' that really hits the mark
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former US Rep Liz Cheney is set to release her book 'Oath and Honor' in early December. ‘The View’ co-hosts weighed in on the same and went on to discuss former President Donald Trump, among other aspects of Cheney’s book.
'The View’ host and moderator Whoopi Goldberg started off the segment with a comment on Trump, whom she continues to address as “you-know-who,” and the aftermath of his losing the elections against Joe Biden.
Whoopi Goldberg mocks Donald Trump
Goldberg introduced the topic to her co-hosts in a comical fashion when she spoke about ousted GOP Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Donald Trump.
Goldberg said, “Now, you know, former GOP Congresswoman Liz Cheney is holding her party accountable in her new book, 'Oath and Honor'. She writes that you-know-who and other Republicans knew he lost fair and square but fell in line to try and keep him in office anyway. She also reveals her father, Dick Cheney, told her she was in danger on January 6th because you-know-who called her out by name.”
She then spoke about McCarthy, saying, “Kevin McCarthy ran…ran… to Mar-a-Lago after the election because staffers said you-know-who was so depressed, he wasn't eating.”
Joy Behar chimed in and said, “You know Whoopi, I was thinking, Whoop. Next year, no lasagna for you. I'm sending it to Donald. He’s so hungry, poor thing, he's not eating.”
Goldberg responded, “I know and Kevin McCarthy felt so strong. What was he going to do? breastfeed him? It makes no sense to me.” The hosts and audience erupted into laughter at Goldberg’s comment.
Whoopi Goldberg says ‘truth does not matter much these days’
As the segment went on, ‘The View’ hosts also discussed Nikki Haley, as Alyssa Farah Griffin showed her support for the GOP candidate and former South Carolina governor. Sunny Hostin also remarked that Liz Cheney was “spilling the tea” in her book.
They then moved on to talk about Donald Trump and his “participation in the insurrection,” after which Whoopi Goldberg chimed in once again.
Goldberg said, “Just because you're telling the truth does not matter very much these days, and I have to tell you, you know, I hear everything you're saying. But what I want is whoever is going to stand for us, the American people. I don't mind having…I don't mind Republican, Democrat, I don't mind it because it gives us an argument.“
She added, “But when you're not taking us into consideration and it's about holding on to power, you're a danger.”
