SIMI VALLEY, CALIFORNIA: The Second GOP debate was a twist and turn of unexpected events as Republican candidates battled it out for the 2024 Presidential Election.

Eventually, things got heated between some of the candidates as they took an offensive stance against each other in their arguments.

Vivek Ramaswamy became a major target of this during the debate as Nikki Haley questioned his suitability for running in the elections.

Parallel to this, social media users who were religiously reacting to the debate, discovered Haley's contradicting take on Ramaswamy in a review of his book from 2021.

Nikki Haley previously praised Vivek Ramaswamy for his book

Haley and Ramaswamy had a fiery exchange at the GOP debate tonight over the case of TikTok.

Their views clashed on the Chinese-owned social media platform, which the young businessman supported wholeheartedly.

Ramaswamy found the application a good bridge to reach the next generation while on the other hand, Haley saw this as a way of supporting China's endeavours.

"This is infuriating because TikTok is one of the most dangerous social media apps that we could have," Haley responded to Ramaswamy's take.

"Honestly, every time I hear you I feel a little bit dumber for what you say," she said.

Soon after her comment on the national stage, NYT columnist Carlos Lozada discovered an excerpt of Haley's review of Ramaswamy's book 'Woke, Inc.'

The former South Carolina Governor says in the review that Ramaswamy "speaks the truth without fear" which posed a direct dichotomy of Haley saying he can't be trusted with a presidential position.

While the book that she reviewed came out in 2021, the blurb was on his recently published 'Capitalist Punishment' which came out in April 2023.

Internet laughs over Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy's exchange

After Nikki Haley's blurb for Vivek Ramaswamy's book surfaced, internet users were left in splits over the hilarious discovery.

"I would pay cash money to have Vivek read this back to Nikki during one of their intramural debate spats," an X user made a suggestion on the social media platform.

Another one wrote, "For Vivek’s next book: “every time I hear you, I feel a little bit dumber” - Nikki Haley."

Some also went on to question Haley on flip-flopping her opinions too much as one user wrote, "Yeah... and every one of the GOP nominees knew that Trump was scum in 2015, then started praising him later. Nikki is a flip flopping Liar like the rest of them!"

Another one said, "Is there anything Nikki Haley hasn’t been two-faced about?"

Some expressed their disappointment over Ramaswamy not weaponizing the review in his defense at the debate stage.

MSNBC anchor Mehdi Hasan went on to post, "Not sure what’s funnier - that she praised him then and furiously attacks him now, or he wasn’t smart or quick enough to use her effusive quote about him *against her* as a riposte."

A user also wrote, "Such poor prep work that Vivek didn’t have this in his back pocket in the first debate."
