Internet backs Donald Trump in response to Ron DeSantis' 'one-on-one' challenge following his absence from second GOP debate

In an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis challenged former President Donald Trump to a one-on-one debate

SIMI VALLEY, CALIFORNIA: After the second GOP debate wrapped up at Simi Valley, California, in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, the aftermath began. This included the candidates interviewing with reporters and news anchors.

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity was also present in California and interviewed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a part of his show, ‘Hannity.’

In this interview between DeSantis and Hannity, the governor spoke about former President Donald Trump, and more importantly his absence from the second GOP debate, which was briefly brushed upon during the debate as well.

Ron DeSantis talks about the former President

In a clip posted by Governor Ron DeSantis on X, formerly known as Twitter, he is in conversation with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity.

DeSantis said, “You know what, maybe we can say, since the former President didn’t come here, maybe he would be willing to do one with you and I. I think he owes it to the voters to come and make the case.

To this, Hannity responded, “You’re now challenging…so, this is going to Hannity one-on-one debate central.”

“Let’s do it, let’s do it,” responded DeSantis enthusiastically. He continued, “Here’s the thing though, you owe it to the voters to come and make the case, no one is entitled to anything. You can say…oh some poll months before, no, you got to make the case, you owe it to the voters.”

DeSantis also added, “I’m going to show up everywhere.”

Internet rushes to support Donald Trump

In response to this interview between Sean Hannity and Ron DeSantis, the internet has come to support former President Donald Trump instead. One user wrote, “Donald Trump won the Debate in my view,” and another said, “What case exactly? He did that already.”

“No, he does not, if you were watching what I was watching it was a bunch of people, being obnoxious talking over each other. It was a chaotic mess. If @realDonaldTrump I cannot imagine how out of control all of you would have been jumping on him. He made the right choice,” wrote one user.

People continued to support Trump, “Trump doesn’t need to debate unserious candidates,” and another wrote, “Well, he is doing fine on his course and his supporters are fine with it. So...moot point.”

“President Trump is the only person for this job! Either get behind him or get out of the way!” wrote another user.
