SIMI VALLEY, CALIFORNIA: The second GOP debate took place on September 27, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, and former governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley, left several people impressed.

In addition to receiving applause from the audience, Haley also received appreciation and applause from people on X, formerly known as Twitter, over her vision for healthcare in the United States of America.

Nikki Haley talks about healthcare in America

“On the topic of healthcare, Governor Haley, healthcare is the leading cause of bankruptcy for American families,” explained the moderator before they asked,  “As president, how will you protect Americans who get sick from financial ruin.”

Haley responded, “First of all, how can we be the best country in the world and have the most expensive healthcare in the world? We have an issue.”

She then spoke about an incident with her mother, “My mom was in the hospital, and when she was in the hospital, they tried to bring her a couple of Tylenol, and she said I don’t need it, and they said, honey, go ahead and take because you’re paying for it anyway.”

Haley continued, “Why is it that when we got the bill, the insurance company in the hospital negotiated the bill for her, without her having anything to do with it?”

She then declared, “When I am president, we will bring all of it, from the insurance company to the hospital to the doctor’s offices to the PBMs, to the pharmaceutical companies. We will make it all transparent because when you do that, you will realize that’s what the problem is.”

She also added, “We need to put the patient in the driver’s seat, they have been in the backseat for way too long, and once we get the patient the ability to decide their healthcare, deciding which plan they want, that is when we will see magic happen.”

Nikki Haley impresses people on social media

In response to Nikki Haley’s vision for the healthcare system, people on X, formerly known as Twitter, who were following the second GOP debate, applauded Haley for the same.

One person wrote, “The only good answer so far tonight was Nikki Haley's answer on healthcare, the rest of this debate has been a joke.”

A second person summarized her points, writing, “Great plan from Nikki Haley on healthcare: 1. Transparency 2. Deal with tort law 3. Bring competition back to healthcare.”

Another said, “Nikki Haley's healthcare answer was perfect. A few weeks ago, it took me 20 phone calls just to get scheduled for an MRI. And I have great insurance! Explaining, through tears, to a series of strangers, "Hi, I'm in pain, can you help me?" and hearing "no" was just awful.”

One user wrote, “The debate is a bore. Same bullshit. No one really answers the question. Nothing will change. Nikki Haley is above the rest. Her response on healthcare won my respect. Ron Desantis is still a nut job,” while a fifth viewer said, “YES, Nikki Haley. TEAR THE ENTIRE SYSTEM DOWN.”

Many on the internet thought Haley’s response was “on point” as one user wrote, “Nikki Haley’s response on healthcare is on point. Transparency and competition. Put control and decisions back in the hands of the patients.”
