'Instant Hotel' season 2: Release date, plot, cast, trailer, news and everything you need to know about the Netflix home reality show

Season one saw the Australian series becoming a big hit among fans and viewers all over. With season two around the corner, here's everything you need to know about the show

Ever since 'Instant Hotel' released its season one on Netflix, the Australian series has become a big hit among fans and viewers all over. The show revolves around five pairs of Australians who take turns in hosting one another at their short-term vacation homes around the country. After each stay, the guests get to rate the accommodation. The one with the best rating comes out on top. 

Although the series is said to be a Netflix Original, it first premiered on Channel 7 in Australia back in 2017. And now after the raving reviews on the show, the series is back for season two that is set to release pretty soon.

If you are someone who hasn't watched season 1 of Instant Hotel and plan on catching up before season 2 can release, it will take you 9 hours 18 minutes if you plan to binge watch. Season 1of Instant Hotel took us to Humpty Doo, the Gold Coast, Barossa Valley, and Bondi Beach. While we wait in anticipation to see where season 2 takes us, here's everything you need to know about the forthcoming show.

Release Date

'Instant Hotel' season two is set to release on Netflix on June 28. 

Plot

The competition has two rounds. Each round lasts five episodes each and one Instant Hotel group will feature in each round. The teams will be scored out of 10 based on the quality of the house, the location, nearby attractions, the value for money and quality of a good night's sleep. The group teams will also be judged by Juliet Ashworth and a new additional judge, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. There is a twist in the competition as well. Apart from the contestants scoring the team, the team will also score their houseguests overall on their stay. This score will go toward their finals scores. The team that out beats the rest with the highest score will go to the Grand Finale. The prize for the second season winners is $100,000.

Cast 

There are four teams that will feature in season two on Netflix. Hailing from Queensland is mother and son duo, Debbie and Justin. Their hometown is in Buddina, Sunshine Coast. From South Australia are partners Razz and Mark whose hometown is in Coober Pedy. Jay and Leah are partners from Victoria. Their hometown is in Portsea. The final team is partners Gene and Sharon from Queensland and their hometown is in Cairns. 

Judges 

There is a big change this season on 'Instant Hotel'. Last season the series was hosted by Luke Jacobz and Juliet Ashworth was the only judge on the series. But this season, Jacobz will be replaced by a well-known British host known as Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. He is known for his appearance on various daytime shows. This season he will be the host and accompany Ashworth as a judge as well.

Trailer

The trailer for season two of 'Instant Hotel' wastes no time in revealing what we might get to see when it releases on Netflix. Starting off, the trailer shows the teams all heading up to the houses while a voiceover says that this season the teams will visits houses from the tropical rainforests to the sunshine coast. The trailer also shows us a glimpse of the houses of the team members and the adventures they have. At the end of the trailer, Bowen reveals he cannot wait to find out Australia's next 'Instant Hotel'.

'Instant Hotel' season 2 has already aired on Channel 7 in Australia and will now release on Netflix on June 28.
