Who is Jackie Walorski's husband? Indiana Rep, 58, and 2 staffers killed in head-on car collision
Indiana congresswoman Jackie Walorski, 58, died in a head-on vehicle collision that also killed two of her staffers on August 3. One of the two people had previously worked with Walorski and was now working House of Representatives and one was her communication director. They were traveling in a vehicle when another car veered into their lane, said Elkhart county sheriff’s office.
Elkhart County Sheriff's Office announced the tragic news via a Facebook post, which read, "On August 3, 2022 at approximately 12:32 PM the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle crash on SR 19 south of SR 119. A northbound passenger car traveled left of center and collided head on with a southbound sports utility vehicle. All three occupants in the southbound vehicle died as a result of their injuries: Jackie Walorski, 58, Elkhart, Indiana; Zachery Potts, 27, Mishawaka, Indiana; Emma Thomson, 28, Washington, DC. The sole occupant of the northbound vehicle, Edith Schmucker, 56, Nappanee, Indiana was pronounced deceased at the scene." Potts had previously worked as Walorski's campaign manager before jumping up to the position of the district director in Indiana for the House of Representatives. Thomson was Walorski's communications director.

Who is Dean Swihart?
Walorski was born on August 17, 1963 and died two weeks before her birthday, aged 58. She married Dean Swihart on July 16, 1995, and enjoyed a 27-year-long marriage. While there's not much public information available, Walorski let out some secrets every once in a while. For example, she tweeted back in 2014, saying they both were missionaries once in Romania. According to her Congressional biography, "Jackie and her husband Dean previously spent four years as missionaries in Romania, where they started and ran a foundation to provide food and medical supplies to impoverished children there."
Swihart, as confirmed seven years ago, was a K-6 Music Teacher at Hums Elementary and Twin Branch Elementary. The School of Mishawaka congratulated Swihart back in 2015 for performing at the Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat game in Indianapolis. The post read, "Congratulations to Dean Swihart, K-6 Music teacher at Hums Elementary and Twin Branch Elementary, on a great performance of the National Anthem at the Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat game in Indianapolis on Easter Sunday. The game was a sell-out and there were about 18,000 people in attendance." He was often seen beside Walorski during her campaign and when she was sworn in 2019. She tweeted back then, "The 116th Congress is in session! I was honored to be sworn in with Dean and our family and friends by my side. It is a privilege to represent 2nd District Hoosiers, and I’m ready to get back to work fighting for you.

Warloski's official Twitter account announced that Dean was aware of Walorski's death. The statement read, "Dean Swihart, Jackie’s husband, was just informed by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s office that Jackie was killed in a car accident this afternoon. She has returned home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers."
