MUMBAI, INDIA: According to Sima Taparia, educated women refuse to listen to anybody, and their ego causes divorces.

The 'Indian Matchmaking' star stated in an interview with Mashable India that she does not provide matchmaking services for Muslims, Christians or Parsis.

Taparia made a number of controversial statements regarding her clients and women in general, eliciting furious responses from netizens.

Taparia told interviewer Siddhaarth Aalambayan that those who desired divorce were egoistic.

She stated that the individuals she had matched had not considered divorce, but "if it happened, it is because they don’t have patience, flexibility, no willingness to adjust and have egoism."

She said that educated women who refused to adapt were the ones that generate difficulties. "That’s how problems are created. They don’t have the values of giving, sharing, and caring," she said.

Taparia stated that educated women did not listen to anyone and could not adhere to others' expectations.

"People are divorcing because there is no patience, no adjustment, egoism. Highly educated girls don’t listen to anybody," she remarked.

She said that when a flight was delayed, you just wait, and one must have the same patience at home.

When the interviewer responded that the same should be true for men, Taparia asserted she meant both men and women.

During the interview, Taparia said that women should not be overly ambitious because it was difficult to realize a woman's aspirations.

She, however, clarified that she had always been one. She also disclosed that she married at the age of 19 in 1983.

During the conversation, she made some additional troubling remarks.

She stated, “There is a very influential family in the South, their son is very dark. In the South, people are generally dark. His mom’s criteria list was very long. But thankfully, they got the girl they exactly wished for."

Fans slammed "Sima Aunty" on X as one wrote, "She's hardly an authority on marriage. I don't think any of her matches on Netflix came thru. Like does this woman get any matches made?"

On the Youtube video, a user commented, "Sima is patriarchy internalized. The skin color requirement does not strike her mind as an issue at all. If you see the documentary she herself was in, it shows how her own daughter suffered the patriarchy. she has milked it well but no mental growth . Oblivious."

One even went as far as to call her having "BOOMER ENERGY!!!" Another person chimed in, "Male feminist reverse uno."

Who can hire Sima Taparia from 'Indian Matchmaking'?

Taparia also mentioned in the interview that she picked and chose her clientele.

"I do a lot of matchmaking for desis abroad, I get a lot of calls from people in the US. I don’t do matchmaking for Christians, Parsis, and Muslims," she said.

She added. "But I choose and pick because I can’t do it for everybody. I usually do matchmaking for clients who have good salary packages, because I only have those types of clients."

How much does 'Indian Matchmaking' star Sima Taparia charge?

Taparia charges a premium price from $1,220 to $6,000 for a single matching assignment. People can arrange a session with her and use her services through her website.

Is anyone from 'Indian Matchmaking' still together?

Priya Ashra, a private chef and clinical chemist from London, sought Sima Aunty's assistance after a difficult divorce left her yearning for love once more.

She struggled to connect with her matches until she found Vimal aka Vim Kansara, with whom she linked through a shared passion for cooking and travel, and the couple is still together!

Priya captioned an adorable Instagram photo of them after the series aired, "Sima Auntie understood the assignment."
