'In The Tall Grass' Official Trailer: Netflix movie pushes the panic button with another nail-biting Stephen King tale

Sharing the official trailer of the forthcoming horror drama, Stephen King wrote on Twitter: "Netflix. Next month. It's scary."
UPDATED SEP 18, 2019

Stephen King's novels are eerie but aren't they absolutely brilliant too? If you were already dazzled by the horrifying trailer of 'IT Chapter Two', here's another screen adaptation of a story by the author that may strike your fancy! Sharing the official trailer of the forthcoming horror drama 'In the Tall Grass', King wrote on Twitter: "Netflix. Next month. It's scary."

"Some places have a mind of their own," the caption reads. "Based on the novella by Stephen King and Joe Hill, when siblings Becky and Cal hear the cries of a young boy lost within a field of tall grass, they venture in to rescue him, only to become ensnared themselves by a sinister force that quickly disorients and separates them. Cut off from the world and unable to escape the field’s tightening grip, they soon discover that the only thing worse than getting lost is being found."

A still from 'In the Tall Grass'. (Netflix)

Written and directed by Vincenzo Natali, the 2.30-minute clip shows how a car stops by a complex maze of tall grass. "Help," a voice cries from the field. "I'm lost in here." When the young siblings (Laysla De Oliveira and Harrison Gilbertson) hear the sounds of a distressed child, they decide to look for the young boy and enter the tall grasses. Their decision spells trouble and all the members are separated from each other with no means to get back together.

Will they ever be able to get out of the ensnaring tall grasses? As one of them tries to find their way back, a boy comes behind and says: "You can find things, but it's easier once they're dead." The terrifying storyline seems to be full of panic-stricken scenarios and makes for a suspenseful tale.

The movie stars Patrick Wilson as Ross Humboldt, Laysla De Oliveira as Becky Demuth, Avery Whitted as Cal Demuth, Rachel Wilson as Natalie Humboldt, Will Buie Jr. as Tobin Humboldt and Harrison Gilbertson.

Reportedly, the film has been filmed in a dilapidated church set constructed on a rural road in Perth South, Ontario and outside of a bowling alley in Elmira, Ontario. Seems like there's more to the movie than just tall grass. Get set to get lost in the grassland as the movie premieres on Netflix on October 4, 2019.
