MOSCOW, IDAHO: Police are still searching for a concrete lead in the November 13 murders of University of Idaho students Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21. Amid the rampant speculation that has overtaken the internet ever since the murders, a Twitter user recently suggested an "undercover agent" was present at Kaylee Goncalves' vigil.
A Twitter user focused on an individual who appeared to abruptly leave the vigil when Kaylee's father stepped on the stage to speak. The user wrote, "Take a look at this as soon as kaylees dad walk up to speak, a man with glasses and a hat walk off, and clearly others notice this as well that were there." Another individual responded, "I think it might b an undercover there were probably quite a few in the crowd trying 2 c if they could profile a suspect, but I know nothing it could b him something about him gives me bad vibes & looks big & strong enough."

Ok I see the guy walking out. Who is this? How is connected. A criminal profiler did say, a criminal could attend a vigil and might be in rows closer to stage.

Another user wrote on the same thread, "Ok I see the guy walking out. Who is this? How is connected. A criminal profiler did say, a criminal could attend a vigil and might be in rows closer to the stage."
That said, these are merely the most recent among the countless unfounded claims about the case that the Internet has played with over the last month. The web sleuths have already invited the cops' ire and forced the Moscow PD to sound a stern warning that any online claim that impedes the probe or defames the persons involved will be met with strict legal action.
Besides, mounting pressure from the victiims' families and the inordinate media attention the case has received has also complicated matters for the police. The investigation is still ongoing, with no sign of a breakthrough even after the holiday break. The Moscow Police Department has since confirmed that a car discovered in Oregon was unrelated to the stabbings.
On the other hand, the father of one of the slain students claimed that the top investigator speaks with him frequently and is confident that police will find their killer, who apparently "made a mistake at the scene." Madison Mogen's father Ben Mogen is reportedly certain the killer will be apprehended. It has been six weeks since the murders, and families more growing impatient as they wait for the killer to be nabbed, Daily Mail reports.
