Arizona teacher who sent 'I want you every day' text to sixth-grader pleads guilty to molesting him
A former sixth-grade teacher from Arizona has admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student in her class. According to online court records, Brittany Zamora, 27, a former instructor at Las Brisas Academy, pleaded guilty to sexual conduct with a minor, molestation of a child and public sexual indecency.
She was arrested in March 2018 after the student's parents contacted authorities when they came across inappropriate texts on his phone from the teacher.
Zamora reportedly sent several sexually-charged text messages to the sixth grader, People reports.
The boy texted Zamora in one particular exchange expressing his desire to have sex with her. In response, she wrote: “I know baby! I want you every day with no time limit,” court records state. Another conversation sees the teacher text him that "if I could quit my job and [have sex with] you all day long, I would.”
Authorities revealed Zamora sent the minor photos in the nude and there was at least one photo of herself in lingerie.
With time, the sexual relationship became more unabashed in nature.
According to documents first obtained by the Arizona Republic, police said Zamora played an educational video during one of her classes. It was later revealed that Zamora and the victim sexually fondled each other in the back of the classroom while the video was playing.
The victim told police during interrogation that he and his friend stayed after school at Las Brisas Academy one day to prepare for a talent show. Zamora reportedly began kissing the 13-year-old when the two boys were alone with her in the classroom. He also revealed that she asked his friend to stay in the room and be on a lookout before they eventually had sex.
As previously reported by MEAWW, the parents of the West Valley teen had earlier sought $2.5 million from Goodyear elementary school, as they filed a notice of claim outlining their case against Las Brisas Academy Elementary School. In their filing, the parents claimed that the school could have prevented the incident from happening.
Zamora at that time was charged with two counts of molestation of a child, one count of furnishing harmful material and nine counts of sexual conduct with a minor. Under the plea agreement, Zamora could spend up to 12 years in prison, and according to online records, she will be sentenced on July 12.
