'I see experience': 'The View' host Sunny Hostin applauds Joe Biden's speech amid Israel-Hamas conflict
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Wednesday, ‘The View’ co-hosts got together to discuss the impact of the “vacant Speakership” on aid to Israel amid the country’s ongoing conflict with Hamas.
During this discussion, the hosts also talked about President Joe Biden and his response to the conflict, along with his support for Israel. All the hosts applauded Biden for his speech, especially Sunny Hostin, who saw “experience” when it came to Biden.
In addition, Alyssa Farah Griffin, former Trump aide and Republican, was also in agreement with the opinions shared by her fellow hosts about President Biden.
‘The View’ hosts discuss the vacant Speakership
This segment on ‘The View’ took place only hours before Steve Scalise was picked as GOP speaker nominee, although it still remains “unclear whether he will be able to win over holdouts,” as reported by CNN.
Joy Behar introduced the topic to her co-hosts, in the absence of moderator Whoopi Goldberg, “Okay, so yesterday President Biden took to the podium to let the world know that the US stands firmly alongside Israel in the wake of the brutal attacks from terrorist group Hamas. Watch.”
‘The View’ then played a brief clip of President Joe Biden’s speech. As soon as it ended, Behar said, “That leadership is severely lacking in Congress at the moment. Still can't find someone to replace Kevin McCarthy as House Speaker. This is limiting how much aid they can send to Israel.”
Behar continued, “So my question to you, ladies, is when are they going to get their act together? What should they do? All I see are Jim Jordan and Scalise up front. What happened to the rest of them? Why just them?”
To this, Sunny Hostin responded, “Those are the two…maybe they’re the least chaotic, I don't know... Jim Jordan is pretty chaotic.”
Hostin added, “I would just say, having a leader, like Biden, they want to call him old Joe and sleepy Joe and all of that. I saw experience up there,” as she referred to his speech. This earned applause from the live audience.
“I saw someone that has dealt with geopolitics. Probably has surrounded himself with the best experts in geopolitics, and that gave me great comfort, even though we know the crap show that's going on in Congress and that they may pick someone crazy,” said Hostin.
Hostin concluded, “I feel like Biden can steady the ship, and that should give us some comfort in some way.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin weighs in on Joe Biden's speech
In response to President Joe Biden’s speech on the Israel-Hamas conflict, former Trump aide, Alyssa Farah Griffin said she had “no notes.”
Griffin stated, “I have to say no notes. Joe Biden nailed it. That was a very strong moment for the American president.”
