The iHeartCountry 4th of July BBQ kicked off on The CW network and iHeart Country radio stations on July 3, as viewers were treated to a night of music and storytelling by some of country music's biggest stars. The star-studded Independence Day celebration was hosted by the popular TV and radio personality Bobby Bones, while artistes like Kane Brown, Lauren Alaina and Old Dominion treated us to some intimate music performances from the safety and comfort of their backyards due to the ongoing social distancing protocols.

Young music sensation Kane Brown was on hand to give us a spectacular display with his songs 'Lose It' and 'Cool Again'. He also covered the old classic 'Drift Away' by John Henry Kurtz with his band, which prompted one fan to tweet: "Love 'Drift Away'!! You are so talented! Love your voice." Kane Brown also gave performed a memorable duet with Lauren Alaina as they teamed up to perform their hit 2016 collaboration 'What Ifs'. One awestruck fan exclaimed, "LOVE this song by @kanebrown and @Lauren_Alaina — WhatIfs — downloading it now, first time hearing it!"

We also learned that Lauren Alaina and Kane Brown were in the same choir together as kids, and they've been friends since seventh grade. Besides regaling us with his favorite Fourth Of July memories and how amazing it felt to be a new father, Kane Brown also had this to say about the current state of affairs in the country: "With all the dividing that has been going on recently, I just want to say that I want everybody to love each other. Everybody's equal."

Lauren Alaina was resplendent in a flowery top as she treated us to some gorgeous tunes, including her songs 'Road Less Traveled' and 'Getting Good'. The country music star also issued this heartfelt statement: "The most important thing for all of us to do is to listen, to love and to learn so that all humans feel loved and feel treated equally."

Meanwhile, country music group Old Dominion thrilled viewers with some lovely numbers as they performed next to a crackling campfire. Some of their performances included their hits 'One Man Band' and 'Make It Sweet', as well as an immaculate rendition of 'Pink Houses' by John Mellencamp. One delighted fan said, "Pink Houses! @OldDominion on point. Dancing along in my car. Best firepit ever."

Old Dominion were joined by a special guest, lead singer Matthew Ramsey's dog, Buck, who joined the five-piece Nashville outfit onscreen.
