‘I feel like I'm getting better results’: Mark Wahlberg reveals he fasts for 18 hours and wakes up at 3.30 am
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Mark Wahlberg is surely a staunch believer of the old saying of "early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise." While, we, mere mortals, are waiting to reap the benefits (even trying to achieve the stringent routine), the ‘Transformers’ star has been following the old saying and is getting results too. Estimated to be a whopping $400 million, the ‘Uncharted’ star said that he has gained most of the benefits by staying “consistent with my routine.”
The devoutly religious actor during that time attributed his spirituality to be the driving force of his life which has helped him gain so much. In 2020, the actor-turned-businessman also came to know about him being allergic to many substances. However, he managed to come out of the health problems through his strict routine and with the help of his God. in the same interview he further added, “Getting the right amount of rest, really staying focused. My spirituality, my faith has got to be the center of it all.”
‘It only took 49 years to realize’
While the world was grappling with the Covid-19 pandemic, Wahlberg made a life altering discovery. At 49 years of age, he came to know that he is allergic to almost everything. During that time, he took to Instagram to share the news with her fans. Sharing a photo of his bare back where several red bumps and marks could be seen, the ‘Fear’ actor wrote in caption, "It only took 49 years to realize I’m allergic to almost everything."

‘I feel like I am getting better results’
As per the plan he shared with The Wall Street Journal in January 2023, the Oscar winning actor is on a diet consisting of intermittent fasting and involves him fasting for almost 18 hours. Moreover, he has also made a habit of waking up between 3.30 am to 4 am. He said, “In the morning getting up early, there's no one around.” However, he makes use of the time quite productively as he said, “I'm going through all my emails reaching out to everybody I work with in various respects.” He added, “I can make a lot of those calls in the morning, if I'm going back and forth to the golf course or when I'm in the car.”

In the morning time, he also exercises, giving the primary focus to weight training. Talking about that he revealed, “I don't have to do as much cardio, I don't have to spend as much time in the gym and I feel like I am getting better results.” He visits the golf course too before eating during the time period between 12 noon to 6 pm. He came to know about intermittent fasting from his friend and media agency chief executive Ari Emanuel. His diet includes a lot of high protein diet including the likes of turkey burgers, egg whites, meatballs and chicken. His carbohydrate sources are primarily rice, potatoes and oats.
