'I Am Shauna Rae': Fans want Shauna's parents to let her grow as she feels 'worthless'
For Shauna, the star of 'I Am Shauna Rae', her focus is on trying to live a normal life, like any other 22 year old. But for her, it is not as easy. Because she looks like an 8-year-old, her parents are protective and worried about her. However, although this worry comes from a place of love, it certainly seems to bother Shauna that she is often denied the most basic things in life.
Season 1 of the show saw Shauna deal with dating and wanting to pursue her career, among other things. But her biggest priority has been finding her own independence. Now, Shauna wants to get her own place to fastrack this process.

Shauna announced to her family that she wanted to move out in 6 months. While her sister Tara asked about of she had a plan or the funds to support this, Shauna reminded her that their parents' overprotectiveness meant she had neither but needed to change that. While Mark tried to reason with Shauna about staying back and not being pessimistic, she reminded him that her life is difficult. She admitted to feeling worthless and that moving out and being independent could fix that. Fans took to Twitter to offer their support.
"I feel bad for Shauna. I know her family wants the best for her but she's not in school, she doesn't work, and forming relationships are hard for her. She just needs something to make her feel like an adult because that's why she tries to force it. #IAmShaunaRae" tweeted a fan. You are 22 afterall….. @iamshaunarae @TLC #IAmShaunaRae your family loves you and I feel Rylee is more understanding" added another. "Feeling bad for Shauna in that it’s hard for her to form relationships with other people! #IAmShaunaRae" said a fan. "If Shauna’s parents are still treating her like a child and not caring about her feelings, she’ll never be able to grow up! #IAmShaunaRae" noted another. "Shauna can’t grow up if her parents constantly treat her like a child and downplay her emotions like….#IAmShaunaRae" said a fan. "She does need a job.
