Could Hydro-Man be the villain of Spider-Man sequel? Tom Holland shares water stunt fueling rumors
The next instalment in the series, 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' is currently filming in the UK with lead star Tom Holland reprising his role as the web-slinging superhero.
Don't trust that sneaky Spider-Man fellow. At least when he is trying to tell you that he performs all his stunts (just like a certain Tom Cruise).
Following the more than positive reception of the first Spider-Man movie in the newly rebooted franchise, 'Homecoming', work on its sequel has been in full swing. In fact, the next installment in the series, 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' is currently filming in the UK with lead star Tom Holland reprising his role as the web-slinging superhero. As is the case with most superhero movies, fans are eager to get some early tidbits about the plot and the new conflicts. Although at the moment, Marvel and Sony are keeping most details under the wraps, thanks to Holland, a little sneak peek of a crazy water stunt has made its way to the Internet.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the Spider-Man actor shared a glimpse of the on-set action with his fans, telling them again that he performs all his stunts - something that die-hard Marvel fans would know to be untrue, as its clearly evident in the video as well. While Holland continues to fill in his followers on his charitable endeavors in the video, urging them to help him raise money for The Brothers Trust, in the background a completely different action stunt seems to be unfolding.
In the middle of the recording, one can even hear a countdown starting in the background. And the next thing we know is a blast of water comes out of nowhere, knocking down a guy, who pretty much looks like Holland - perhaps his stunt double. All of this might be tomfoolery, but eagle-eyed Spider-Man fans, since watching the video, have come to believe that these could be early hints about the new villain, Hydro-Man.
"This is an amazing spoiler dude... now we are aware of one of the stunts and your outfit @tomholland2013 @zendaya @lifeisaloha @tonyrevolori @jnwtts," a fan wrote in response to the video.
Ad someone else chimed in, writing, "BTW You just gave out a major spoiler OMG," while another added: "Hydro-Man?"
Those who have been keeping a keen eye on the Spider-man developments are used to Holland revealing key spoilers about the movie via his social media pages. Earlier he revealed the title of the Spider-Man sequel and then went on to dish some more about the Spidey suit - which by the way is his original red-and-blue suit from the first installment, 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'.
Guess fans will have to make do with these spoilers until 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' hits theaters on July 5, 2019.
