Newlywed woman, 49, dies after 48-hour BDSM session left her with 'perforated bowel', husband charged with manslaughter

Multiple reports claim the newlywed bride sustained critical internal injuries after a sharp object was inserted into her rectal cavity.
UPDATED DEC 9, 2019

A German man reportedly killed his new wife in a two-day BDSM sex session just days after they took the holy vows, resulting in manslaughter charges against the newlywed husband.

According to 52-year-old Ralph Jankus, he took part in the 48-hour romping session with wife Christel, 49, after their nuptials, Daily Mail reports.

Multiple reports claim the newlywed bride sustained critical internal injuries after a sharp object was inserted into her.

Four days after the ordeal, emergency services were called to their address. However, Christel couldn't be saved despite their best efforts.

Jankus, a self-confessed sadomasochist, faces manslaughter charges at the court in Krefeld, in western Germany.

While the 52-year-old claimed he was not aware his wife was seriously unwell, he is being prosecuted for failing to call for help and thereby leaving her injured for four days.

That said, the public prosecutor believes Jankus must have known Christel's life was in danger. During interrogation, he claimed the sex was consensual and that he had been engaging in sadomasochism for the past thirty years.

"It was our honeymoon period," he told authorities.

Furthermore, he said he loved his wife dearly and that couple chose to enjoy a steamy sex session lasting days instead of going on a honeymoon.

Jankus claimed his wife had seen an internal medicine specialist who had carried out a colonoscopy after she complained about discomfort. However, the doctor reportedly found nothing wrong with her.

Shockingly, forensic experts concluded the woman must have had some kind of "barbed hook" inserted into her anal cavity and when it was removed it resulted in a perforated bowel.

Meanwhile, the victim's 30-year-old son, who has not been identified, claimed his mother was mentally unstable and a victim of child abuse. He went on to say his mother was often dominated by her husband and thereafter had started wearing clothes that covered her well.

In 2017, Christel had allegedly reported abuse at the hands of her future husband. However, she later withdrew these allegations and spent some time in a psychiatric clinic instead.

She allegedly fled to a women's shelter in early 2018 and married her partner in July of the same year after turning a new leaf.

"She had injuries over her whole body and in her genital region," the son added. "I made accusations to her that she was putting up with too much and that it should never have gone this far."

According to him, Christel had shown him her bruises and told him she never wanted to see her partner again or be hurt by him. Nonetheless, while Jankus "abused, mistreated, and humiliated" her, she still "loved him though," he said.

"We had no idea about the violence at first," the son's partner, who is also a witness and remains unidentified, added. "But over time it became more apparent, she was not allowed to leave the apartment. She was forced into taking drugs. She was beaten for going to the hairdressers without permission.."

Following the tragedy just days after their marriage, Ralph wrote on social media: "I want to thank you all for the goodwill messages received on our wedding day. Unfortunately, I have to tell you that my dear wife suddenly died just eight days after our wedding. All the happiness I have experienced was in the years with my wife."

According to reports, the couple had been together since 2011.

The trial continues.
