California's Huntington Beach is trending again on Twitter, and as usual, not for the best reasons. Despite the high spike in Covid-19 cases throughout the US, public places and beaches have all opened up. What's more worrying is that people are not exercising basic precautions either while sunning themselves. In videos being shared on Twitter, people seem to be out in the open without wearing a mask at all. While Twitterzens are busy slamming people at the beach for not taking essential precautions, others shared a photo of the beach, which was from 1987, but claimed it was from 2020.

In reality, the photo is from National Geographic and it had been uploaded on the Instagram page, just a couple of hours ago. "Huntington Beach. Not a single mask. I'm disgusted," one tweeted. Another commented on the photo, "This photo is from August 1987."

"This is a photo of Huntington Beach, CA, taken in 1987," one person wrote, linking the Instagram post. Another quoted the original tweet and slammed the user saying, "Oh look! @tims_burner is trying to pass off a @natgeo photo from 1987 as a current photo of Huntington Beach so he can mask shame and virtue signal."

Meanwhile, others continued to slam people for going to Huntington beach, saying that there would be an increased spike in cases. "I remember waking up a few times in Huntington Beach, not remembering how I got there. It struck me as a place that mentally deficient people live... and occasionally a random stupid person would wake up, unaware of how they got there. Anyway, no masks? No surprise. F**k 'em," one wrote.

Others asked people to pray for those living at Huntington Beach. "Please pray for me guys.... ain’t nothing wrong I just live in huntington beach," one person tweeted. "Huntington Beach is really the Florida of CA," another tweeted. "Everyone saying OC is the new Florida. Nah, Huntington Beach itself is the new Florida," another wrote. "Wow just woke up and seeing Huntington Beach trending. Let me guess ppl there refuse to #WearADamnMask. Orange County is definitely the Florida of California and that’s scary, yet sad!" one wrote.

"I grew up in Huntington Beach & was called a nerd and bullied by most of the kids. I didn't surf, skate, or fight. Needless to say I didn't fit in..... I see #HuntingtonBeach trending. Turns out I wasn't the problem," one wrote a snarky comment.
