'Smiling Friends' Season 3 hides chilling 'Silent Hill' Easter egg you may have missed
The seventh episode of 'Smiling Friends' Season 3 just dropped, and fans can't stop talking about it. Viewers have been hooked to the latest instalment of the beloved Adult Swim series since it premiered on October 5, 2025. However, it seems like fans didn't expect to spot an Easter egg in one of the previous episodes of the hit show. The Easter egg moment in the fourth episode, which has been titled 'Curse of the Green Halloween Witch', comes when Pim attempts to escape a decaying hallway filled with different doors, each of them opening to a different kind of horror.
As Pim takes a left turn at the end of the hallway, the camera pans towards a massive hulky figure at the far end of the corridor. The figure seen in the fourth episode of 'Smiling Friends' Season 3 was Pyramid Head from the famous 'Silent Hill' video game franchise. For the unversed, Pyramid Head is also known by several other names, including 'Red Pyramid Thing', 'Red Triangle Head', and 'Triangle Head'.
In the episode, Pyramid Head, a huge, scary figure, is seen carrying a massive blade in his hand and walking towards Pim creepily. As soon as Pim spots the evil monster, she freezes. Shortly afterward, Pim screams at the top of his lungs as the executioner gets closer to him while dragging the large knife across the ground with a screeching metallic wail. The sequence lasts only five seconds, but remains one of the most haunting visuals in the season so far.
As per a report by Prime Timer, Pyramid Head’s brief appearance in the fourth episode was approved by Konami, who gave a green signal to the creators to use the evil character’s design from the video game franchise. At the moment, 'Smiling Friends' fans are looking forward to the eighth episode of season 3, named 'The Glep Ep'. The episode is scheduled to release on Adult Swim on November 30, 2025, at 8:30 pm ET. In addition to this, fans can also catch new episodes of 'Smiling Friends' Season 3 on HBO Max.
