NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani made sensational claims during a Newsmax interview, accusing President Joe Biden of working for Iran and alleging that former President Barack Obama engaged in criminal money laundering.

Giuliani expressed his concerns about the situation in Gaza, claiming that the administration is not properly overseeing the delivery of funds and humanitarian relief to civilians in Gaza, fearing that Hamas may seize and misuse the funds.

Rudy Giuliani attacks Joe Biden and Barack Obama

In his interview with Newsmax, Giuliani stated: "He's got nobody and he's got no one in Gaza. The money is going to go into Gaza. Hamas controls it. They're just as good as the mafia, grabbing the money from people. I mean, he's either being a total fool or a big liar, or probably both. But let's face it, he is on Iran's side and he's on Hamas' side. He is not on our side."

Giuliani also claimed that the Biden administration has individuals with loyalties to Iran and the Palestinian Authority in key positions, comparing it to alleged communist infiltration during FDR's administration.

"We don’t have a president now really functioning in the best interest of the United States. Plus, he’s got a bunch of spies in his administration. This guy is working for Iran. Why? Maybe because they’ve infiltrated his Admin the way the communists infiltrated FDR’s Admin," he continued.

"I mean, one after another coming out whose loyalties are to Iran and to the Palestinian Authority. They’re all around him. But we never really got to the bottom of Obama giving them hundreds of millions in cash. That’s a crime. It was money laundering," Giuliani added.

Social media backlash

In response to Giuliani's statements, social media was flooded with criticism, with many questioning the credibility of his claims.

"How to destroy a legacy 101! I actually feel sad for him! He could have gone down as 'America's Mayor' but, he instead chose to become a laughing stock!" one posted on X.

"And he has a lot of opinions but doesn't have any proof. Ah Rudy, ya gotta knock it off!" another wrote.

"There are three types of lies -- lies, damn lies, and Rudy Giuliani," a comment read.

"Doesn’t Rudy have legal guardians? Someone should be keeping an eye on him," someone else added.

"Incredible these guys will go down with the Trump ship train plane and any other form of Trumpism," another chimed in.

Biden campaign's response

Giuliani's incendiary remarks appear to have drawn the attention of the Biden administration. According to reports, President Biden's re-election campaign contacted top television anchors and networks to request that Rudy Giuliani not be featured on the air due to what they deemed as misleading comments about the Biden family and Ukraine.

A letter from top Biden campaign advisers Anita Dunn and Kate Bedingfield was sent to executives and prominent political anchors at major networks, including ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC, expressing their concerns and urging the exclusion of Giuliani from news programs.

“We are writing today with grave concern that you continue to book Rudy Giuliani on your air to spread false, debunked conspiracy theories on behalf of Donald Trump,” the letter read, as quoted by The New York Times. “Giving Rudy Giuliani valuable time on your air to push these lies in the first place is a disservice to your audience and a disservice to journalism."
