HOUSTON, TEXAS: TLC show 'My 600-Lb Life' recently lost a beloved star. Larry Myers Jr, who appeared on the TLC show which documented his weight loss journey, died soon after his 49th birthday. The reality star was grieving a devastating loss in his sad final days before his death at the age of 49.

Larry's god-sister Sonia Hines-Hall has created a GoFundMe page aiming to raise $35,000 to bring the TLC star back home to his New York family for the funeral services. Larry, also known as Mr Buttermilk Biscuits, was a gospel singer, who appeared on the show during season 10.

Additionally, Sonia also created a GoFundMe page for his funeral arrangements. Sonia further shared in the post, "Larry always made himself available to sing at special events anytime anyone asked, most of the time free of charge. How did Larry Myers Jr die?

Larry's godsister Sonia revealed that there had been "lots of death in the family" and earlier this month, Larry lost a church mother who passed away at 94 years old. Sonia shared with The Sun, "She was like a second mother to him," adding that Larry had been "crying and grieving for days".

Larry even refused to leave his house to celebrate his birthday which was on June 10. Sonia further shared with the outlet that Larry "struggled with asthma his whole life" and in her final phone call with him, she heard he was attached to his CPAP. According to the outlet, Sonia said she heard the news of Larry's death from his father, and medical examiners ruled the cause of death as a heart attack.

Larry Myers Jr's journey on 'My 600-Lb Life'

Larry first appeared on the TLC show in season 10, episode 13 of 'My 600-lb Life', which premiered in January 2022 and was titled 'Larry's Journey'. At the time, he weighed 940 pounds and was bedbound. Notably, Larry's time with the show was not his first attempt to lose the extra weight as he previously lost 700 pounds after being in the hospital due to an accident. He lost enough weight to get weight loss surgery and skin removal procedures. However, Larry ended up gaining back 400 pounds, which is what made him reach out to the doctor.

During the TLC show, Larry opened up about losing his nephew, who was named after him and his father, and also losing his mother, which led him to binge eat. Larry was often seen needing help and facing dizzy spells throughout the season. Larry also had a leg ache, which became so severe that the doctor advised him to go to the hospital. However, Larry didn’t get approved for surgery at the end of the season. But he never sat back and kept up with his weight loss journey even after the show.
