HONOLULU, HAWAII: Angus Mitchell, the only child of the world-famous hairstylist Paul Mitchell has died at the age of 53.
Law enforcement officials have stated that they received a call from Angus' apartment after 6 am on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, and they were informed about a man who seemingly drowned in a pool at his home, according to a report by TMZ.
It has been reported by the media outlet that Angus was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of this moment, no official cause of Angus' death has been revealed.
On Tuesday, January 1, 2024, Angus shared a video of himself listening to some great Hawaiian music with his friends at his home in Honolulu, Hawaii on social media.
His final Instagram post which saw the light of day on January 1, 2024, was a sweet Happy New Year wish for his Instagram followers.
"Who’s ready to wrap 2023 and head into the new year?! Cheers to 2024 from my family to yours," he wrote in the caption of the Instagram post.
What did Paul Mitchell’s son Angus do for a living?
Angus is the co-owner of John Paul Mitchell Systems which was founded by his father in the year 1980.
After his father died in 1989, Angus received his father's ownership share in JPMS and its educational institutions.
For the unversed, Paul died from pancreatic cancer in April of 1989.
Angus followed in the footsteps of his famous father in the beauty industry. He even opened his own salon, the Angus Mitchell Salon in Beverly Hills, California in 2010.
Apart from his career as a hairstylist, Angus also gained recognition as an educator and teacher for MITCH, a men's product line associated with JPMS.
