Hate to say it, but the Calvin-Laura-Miranda drama is the mainstay of 'House of Payne' at the moment. Curtis's poker game didn't grab much attention.

The twelfth episode of 'House of Payne' sees the Calvin (Lance Gross) and Miranda (Keisha Knight Pulliam) drama unfolding further. Laura comes to tell a brooding Calvin that she still loves him, but only after letting him know that what Miranda had said about him "were not lies". She dutifully lets him know that Miranda said that he was unambitious and had a wandering eye, to which Calvin's only response was "I'm a man". Can't fight that defense, can you?

Nevertheless, somehow your current girlfriend listening to what your ex has to say is quickly forgiven, and the two share a kiss. Miranda chooses to walk in on them at that point, which is so predictable, and the episode ends there. That was the main drama of the episode, and honestly, can't help but feel a little curious about what is going to happen next. The drama does grow on you after a while.

Just like her son, Ella (Cassi Davis) also finds herself between the two women. For the last few episodes, Ella has been doling out relationship advice to the two of them, as well as anyone who would listen, including Jazmine. Finally, Ella realizes that she might be just sick of hearing about women whine about Calvin and decides to lock the door after Laura leaves the house. About time, Ella! Handle your own husband first, who is still making inappropriate comments about every woman that enters his house at the moment. Seriously, someone's got to do something about Curtis. That's an example of a wandering eye, if there ever was one.

Also, we seem to be getting used to loose threads — what happened to Jazmine being pressured into sex story, or Malik's (Doc Shaw) stripper girlfriend story? Are we not going to be dealing with any of that at all? No? Okay, then just checking.

'House Of Payne' delivers another beating-around-the-bush episode, with a cliffhanger as a conclusion. Will Miranda finally get what she wants, despite talking trash about her husband? Eh, she might.

'House of Payne' airs on Wednesdays on BET at 8 pm.
