'Hot Pockets' trends as Trump labeled 'crook and conman' by Jim Gaffigan in scathing attack after RNC

Although Jim Gaffigan, known as the 'Hot Pockets guy', has rarely chosen to go political, the last night of RNC clearly made him snap as he slammed Trump in a no-holds-barred tirade on Twitter

Social media users were very confused to see "Hot Pockets" trending on Twitter under the category of "politics" way past midnight after the final night of the Republican National Convention concluded on Thursday, August 27, till they realized that it was because comedian Jim Gaffigan had gone on a lengthy rant against President Donald Trump on the micro-blogging site. 

The name of the frozen snack stuck with Gaffigan ever since he famously made a joke about flushing hot pockets down the toilet during his 2006 Beyond the Pale tour. He became known as the "Hot Pockets guy." Although he has rarely chosen to go political, the last night of RNC clearly made him snap as he went on a no-holds-barred tirade against Trump on Twitter. "Look Trumpers I get it. As a kid I was a cubs fan and I know you stick by your team no matter what but he's a traitor and a con man who doesn't care about you. Deep down you know it. I'm sure you enjoy pissing people off but you know Trump is a liar and a criminal."
