'Hospital Playlist' Episode 7 saw some of the main characters reveal something about themselves and their lives that they hadn't shared before. Or in Gyeo-wool's (Shin Hyun-Bin) case, the character finally managed to reveal her romantic interest in a fellow doctor who she had been crushing on and mooning over, for a while. Until now, Gyeo-wool had only shared her interest in Jeong-won (Yoo Yeon-Seok) with Ik-jun (Cho Jung-Seok) and her a few of her fellow residents who were interested in one of the five friends. So what pushed her to ask Jeong-won out first?

It is just that Jeong-won finds out coincidentally that women in the hospital request Jeong-won to treat them to lunch or dinner outside of the hospital. He accepts because he is sensitive and warm towards everyone, but what he doesn't know is that the women who ask him out on a dinner/lunch date or a movie date are all vying for his attention. The doctors and nurses know of Jeong-won's interest in becoming a priest and yet they try to do their best, just in case.

It is from them that Gyeo-wool gets an idea and she decides that if not now, then she will never get the chance or the courage to ask him out. The bummer, however, is the fact that we never hear Jeong-won's answer. All we can assume at this point is that he would have said yes because that is what he always says.

While this happens, we also see Ik-jun share the details about why he divorced his wife. He shares this with a patient who wants to die because she found out that her husband who donated her the liver for a transplant cheated on her and so she doesn't want to live with the help of his liver. To convince her to not give up her life, he shares his own story about how his wife cheated on him and his son by having an affair with her friend's husband. Yet, the reason why he couldn't give up on continuing to live his life the best way he can is because life is so valuable. His past convinces the patient herself to not give up on her life.

Then we have Ahn Chi-yong  (Kim Jun-wan) who finally reveals why he had to quit the military when he meets a patient who is in the same condition that he was in when he was 29 years old. A condition in his cervical muscle led to Chi-yong giving up on a glorious career in the military but instead, he chose to become a doctor. When a police detective gets admitted with a neurological brain condition and has to face a future where he will not be able to continue his career, Chi-yong tries his best to calm the patient down.

The episode's theme lies in the fact that the doctors hold in a lot about their personal lives when treating their patients and only reveal their other side when they are sure that it would result in helping the patients. The theme of patients bringing out the best and worst in these doctors continues.

'Hospital Playlist' new episodes can be streamed on Netflix on Thursdays.
