The Hospital Playlist Season 1 finale was all about Song-hwa (Jeon Mi-do), Jeong-won (Yoo Yeon-seok), Ik-jun (Cho Jung-seok), Seok-hyeon (Kim Dae-myung), and Jun-wan (Jung Kyoung-ho) take a step in their life despite being scared of rejection or judgments. Over the almost 2-hour long episode, we see how the five of them try to work through their emotions while serving different patients. Many of the patients' lives are saved. Some are unfortunate, but the loss of life is a daily occurrence in a doctor's life. This episode portrays the fine line that doctors need to walk to not become complacent with death or get deeply affected by it that it influences their future as doctors.

Jeong-won, however, is incapable of walking this line because he is more empathetic than the others but he still manages to shrug off losses in his own way. All the kids that visit his pediatric department are close to the doctor who seem to understand the kids better than their parents do and his gift for treating such young patients is something that the country needs especially with there being a shortage of pediatric surgeons. This combined with the fact that he has also fallen in love with Gyeo-wool is what changes Jeong-won's mind about leaving the country to pursue his passion to be a priest.

In fact, one of the biggest questions that fans had over the season was if Jeong-won and Gyeo-wool would end up together and that was quite beautiful answered by the end of the episode when Gyeo-wool's intense confession of love pushed Jeong-won to grab her and plant a kiss on her lips.

Moreover, we finally saw Ik-jun tell Seong-hwa that he has fallen for her and expects to hear from her soon after he returns from his symposium in Spain. Meanwhile, Song-hwa has moved to the regional branch but the one thing that this season doesn't tell us is whether she accepted Ik-jun. Until the very end of the show, we waited to see if Song-hwa's answer is something that will be revealed but it was not and this only leaves us desperate for the next season.

Meanwhile, Jun-wan has successfully crossed the barrier of 'if he should give his girlfriend Ik-sun a couple-ring or not'. Ik-sun happens to be Ik-jun's sister and the two have been dating behind Ik-jun's back. Before Ik-sun left for London, Jun-wan had wanted to tell him about the affair but both get called in for emergency surgery. While Jun-wan has still not managed to tell his best friend the truth, he does learn that it is always better to ask his girlfriend before burdening her with things like couple-rings. He succeeds in gifting her the ring for Christmas but what their future holds we would have to wait and see.

Seok-hyeon, on the other hand, was shocked that his father left all his wealth to his him instead of his mistress who is pregnant with his child. He did not even assign a trust fund for the child and this shocked both Seok-hyeon and his mother. His father also says in the will that he would like Seok-hyeon to run the company as well. However, after considering, Seok-hyeon decides to leave it all to a management company. What he likes most is being a doctor, enjoying ramyeon by himself while watching his favorite show, and playing in the band with his friends. He would only like to do what he loves now and that is what must be expected of Seok-hyeon in the future as well.
