Hillary Clinton's rant on Trump ends due to Zoom time limit, Internet jokes 'special counsel will be appointed'
It seems like following the first Presidential Debate which took place on Tuesday, September 29, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton had a lot to say, especially about rival, Donald Trump but forgot to upgrade her Zoom app which led the virtual meeting service to interrupt her interview.
Clinton was in the middle of an interview with MSNBC's Rachel Maddow when the rude interruption happened. Clinton was at a point in her rant against Trump when she declared, "series is about to be canceled," which was a reference to one of the former real estate mogul and entertainer's favorite phrase on 'The Apprentice' when a text box from Zoom Video Communications popped up stating "Your meeting will end in 10 minutes." The message added, "Contact your IT team to upgrade to Zoom Pro for unlimited Zoom meeting minutes."
As it turned out, neither Clinton and nor the news network had upgraded their accounts for unlimited time for meetings. Basic Zoom account can host meetings with up to 100 users. If more than 3 users join the meeting, Zoom will time out at 40 minutes. In case a person was interested in creating sessions that were longer than 40-minutes and wanted to include more than 3 participants, one had to request a full licensed account, which allowed meetings without a time limit and up to 300 participants, apart from a few other advanced features.
As a result, the screenshot of Clinton's frozen face with the Zoom text box in the middle was shared by a number of social media users with hilarious reactions. After Washington Post Congressional reporter also did the same with the caption, "Former Secretaries of State/winners of presidential popular vote also get time limits on Zoom/video conferencing," Clinton accepted her oversight, responding to the tweet, writing, "Ok, ok, I'll upgrade."

There was a stream of other reactions. "A special council (sic) will be appointed," wrote one which obviously alluded to special counsel Robert Mueller while another chimed in with, "<insert joke about private server>" which referred to the controversial email setup Clinton used as secretary of state. "Is it weird that I respect her a little more for not having Zoom Pro?" one of the users wrote.
"The fact that people still use Zoom when Google Meet is free and unlimited is mind blowing," said another, while someone else wrote, "And I thought zoom was free." And there were some anti-Clinton users too who took the opportunity to poke fun as the incident. "Your legacy will end in 10 minutes. Please use this time to shop for a shirt not worn by Aunt Bee on Andy Griffith," one wrote, while another remarked, "Thank god she gets booted off. Zoom has had enough too!" A third wrote, "Don't contact your IT Team. Find the funding, THEN contact your IT Team."

Clinton, who debated Trump in 2016, did manage to get some scathing remarks against the president out before the interview was rudely interrupted. "I think that his big advantage of having been a so-called reality TV star... has pretty much run its course. I think his series is about to be canceled," she said. "Because it's just the same story over and over again: lying with impunity, attacking when you have nothing to say, unable to give an answer that is, frankly, coherent. I think that Joe knows all that... but I think the American people are also aware of it."
