'Help! I Wrecked My House': Jasmine takes up challenge of renovating couple's dream home with budget of $65K
Ozzie and Lauren had hoped to make their house into their dream home, but time did not let that happen. The pair struggled to find time to finish their project as they had been occupied with their daily jobs. Ozzie and Lauren had hoped that doing DIY projects together would help them make memories, but seeing how many things were on the list, they felt overwhelmed.
Speaking to Jasmine Roth, Ozzie and Lauren revealed that they stopped the renovation because the list kept getting bigger and the time was not enough. Even though it has been seven months since the pair moved into their new house, they are still living out of the boxes as the renovation is not complete. Ozzie revealed he managed to do the flooring for one of the rooms but felt lost about how to move forward. Right from the living room to the kitchen, the pair needed Roth's help with the renovation. However, one of the biggest tasks in their house was the huge backyard that was untouched.
Ozzie and Lauren thought of the backyard as their "big project". However, seeing how much time it required, the couple felt overwhelmed and did not start the renovation. The only thing they got for the backyard was three trees to plant. Seeing the condition of the backyard, Roth knew the family needed their help. Without wasting much time, Roth started her planning for the renovation. She decided to redo the entire kitchen by bringing in new flooring, cabinets, dishwasher and others. Meanwhile, she decided to make the living room brighter by breaking the wall that had been blocking the light.
Roth planned to change the layout of the living room in the hope that the family would feel comfortable. While the pair loved the living room, the two things that bothered them was the color of the big fireplace and how the roof looked. Roth wanted to work on these and make sure the end result left them satisfied. As for the backyard, Roth wanted the space to be safe for their children and an area where the family could come together and enjoy. With only one month in their hand and a budget of $65,000, Roth knew she had a lot on her plate.
However, she decided to work through it. With the help of her crew, she started with renovating the kitchen while breaking the wall for the living room. Her team then brought in new flooring and furniture to fit the house. The biggest transformation was going to take place in the backyard. Roth decided to have a place for the family to relax, as well as, an area for the children to play around. She also managed to get the swimming pool cleaned and fit for the family to swim. She managed to bring her ideas to life and it was finally time to show the renovation to Ozzie and Lauren. As soon as the pair stepped into the house, they could not believe their eyes. Lauren felt emotional and pleased to finally have a house she could call home. Meanwhile, Ozzie too was happy to see their house come together.
