MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: A 37-year-old Melbourne hairdresser, who has been sentenced to six years and three months in prison, never intended her "slave" to kill her boyfriend, who was murdered in the carpark of his Southbank apartment complex, a court has heard. Heide Bos said by the time she realised that she made a mistake, it was already too late.

Just after midnight on July 10, 2021, Nicholas Cameron, 39, caught the elevator down from his 20th-floor apartment, with his pet white terrier, Misty, when he was violently attacked by a man his girlfriend had met months before on a fetish-themed social media site. Bos was sentenced for her role in Cameron's death on Wednesday, Tuesday 21, in the Supreme Court of Victoria after she pleaded guilty to the charge of manslaughter.

Justice Michael Croucher said Bos had met the man on FetLife under the alias 'Slave Pinto' who later agreed to be her "slave" and follow her orders. The duo first hatched the plan of taking out Cameron at Bos' Latrobe St apartment on July 1, 2020, with Slave Pinto telling his femdom that he could be "very persuasive."

During sentencing, Justice Croucher said Bos had asked the man, "Could you make him leave town?" "Yes, my lady, I can be very persuasive," the man replied, as reported by ABC News. Bos was reportedly unaware of the fact that Slave Pinto was carrying the weapons that police discovered were used in the killing.

What happened on the night of the killing?

According to the accounts provided by the judge, Cameron, who was due to be a father at the time he was killed, was a talented country footballer. He had apparently taken an elevator with his pooch before exiting on the third level carpark. Slave Pinto was waiting behind a concrete pillar and started walking before he charged toward Cameron. "He had no idea a man he didn't know was waiting in the shadows with violence on his mind," said Justice Croucher, according to Daily Mail.

Cameron was attacked with a knife and hammer for 11 minutes straight. After hearing cries for help, neighbors rushed to the scene. Paramedics were also called for the rescue and found Cameron lying in a pool of blood while panting heavily and groaning. He was declared dead at the scene at 12.45 am. The man was cornered near the elevator by the neighbors after they aggressively charged toward him. He was found with a blood-soaked knife, a hammer, handcuffs and a dog lead. Justice Croucher said Misty was later found unharmed on the third floor.

Heidi Bos and Nicholas Cameron's volatile relationship

Justice Croucher said that the victim was at times "nasty and controlling" toward his girlfriend but was never violent. He said that Bos reached "the end of her tether" when she chalked the "hare-brained" plan with her co-accused for Cameron to be intimidated. Bos described Cameron as an "f***face loser" and said, "I wish I could come give this c*** a good kick in," in messages obtained by police. The judge later added, "Ms Bos had no idea that he had a weapon and would attack him so mercilessly." It was "far too late" by the time she texted her co-accused to call the plan off, the judge revealed.

Bos had planned the attack for more than a week and had provided Slave Pinto with "vital information" in carrying it out. Justice Croucher also said Bos was suffering from PTSD after the death of her ex-husband in a road accident. She had worked hard to raise her son, had remained employed throughout her adult life, and had no criminal history. Cameron who worked as a landscaper was also a low-level methamphetamines dealer which made her drug habit worse. Cameron was also in a relationship with another woman before he was killed. The court heard the mother of his child cries daily over his loss. "The joy in her life has gone," Justice Croucher said.

How did Heidi Bos get caught?

Bos initially denied knowing her co-accused following Cameron's death. But later she admitted her role in the incident when police linked the pair via a $2,000 bank transfer. She could walk free from prison in 18 months with her period of 548 days spent in prison so far counted as time served. Slave Pinto is due to stand trial later this year.
