Heartbroken mom says she alerted authorities about ex before he killed their son in apparent murder-suicide
Police in Lone Tree, Colorado, encountered a grisly scene when they arrived at an apartment for a welfare check on September 21. Officers “found an adult male and a juvenile male deceased inside the apartment," according to a police statement obtained by People. "[We are] currently investigating this as a murder-suicide and do not believe that there is any threat to the public.”
The bodies were identified by the coroner's department as 48-year-old Anthony Tesoriero and his 10-year-old son, Ty. While the official cause and manner of death are yet to be established pending investigation, multiple news outlets reported that both of them had been shot to death.
Jing Tesoriero, Anthony's ex-wife and Ty's mother, has now spoken out, saying while she had tried to save her son on multiple occasions but authorities were not able to help her. Jing reportedly alerted police, the court systems and child welfare services more than once saying Anthony had violated the terms of their custody agreement by brainwashing his son against her and keeping him longer than he was legally allowed to.
“There were so many agencies that were involved, so many,” Jing Tesoriero told TheDenverChannel. “I begged, talked to, tried to convince everybody to do something.”
Unfortunately, the case tragically ended with an apparent murder-suicide.
The shooting happened less than 24 hours after the family attended a custody hearing, per The Denver Post. The judge had reportedly planned to award Jing full custody of her son. But the embattled mother allegedly received an email from her ex-husband soon after saying, “By the time you finish reading this, Ty will be moments away from joining me in the afterlife.”
Jing immediately rushed to her ex-husband's apartment, where she found her son had died at the hands of his father, who had also shot himself to death.
“I’m heartbroken,” Jing Tesoriero told the Denver Channel. “I don’t even know the words. I’m feeling angry, upset, regrets.”
Family members and loved ones have since set up a GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses.
