'He definitely jumped the shark': Internet baffled after Trump claims he would rather be electrocuted than eaten by a shark
OTTUMWA, IOWA: Former US President Donald Trump attended a campaign rally in Ottumwa, Iowa, on Sunday, October 1, and said he would rather die by electrocution than be eaten by a shark.
The comment came while he spoke about electric vehicles and their batteries as part of his speech.
As part of his other strange remarks, Trump also told the crowd that farmers of Ottumwa allegedly came up to him sobbing to "praise and thank him" for what he has done for them, the Independent reported.
"They were crying, many of them crying. People that had never cried before," he said.
During his speech, the former President also attacked Joe Biden's administration and accused them pf weaponizing "law enforcement to arrest their leading opponent on fake and phony charges."

What did Donald Trump say about being eaten a shark?
As part of his speech, Trump accused the current US government of trying to "crush" ethanol made by the farmers in Iowa
"Crooked Joe is trying to crush Iowa ethanolm," he said before claiming that the President was trying to make "everyone" buy electric vehicles.
"Let’s get in our new electric vehicle. Thirty minutes later you’re looking for a recharge," Trump explained.
"They want to go all-electric... The problem is their batteries are so heavy that the boats can’t carry them. They would sink," he continued.
Shortly after, the former President went on to say that if a boat was sinking, he would rather die by electrocution than get eaten by sharks.
"But if I’m sitting down and that boat’s going down and am on top of the battery and the water starts swelling in, am getting concerned," Trump began.
"Then I look 10 yards to my left and I see a shark over there," he continued.
"So I have a choice of electrocution or shark. You know what I’m going to take? Electrocution. I will take electrocution every single time," Trump added.
Donald Trump's strange analogy left Internet baffled
Social media users were left baffled at Trump suggesting he would rather die by getting electrocuted rather than being eaten by a shark.
"He definitely jumped the shark," one user mocked. "Someone needs to smuggle in the theme tune to Jaws to the next Trump rally for giggles," one suggested.
"I’d love to know the context here. Do the rallies now include a round of 'Would You Rather' with the audience?" another asked.
"It starts by criticizing cars with batteries and goes to boats, sharks and electrocutions from there," an X user responded.
"There's just no words!!!!" a fifth user exclaimed.
One said, "Oh, now he is concerned that he would give sharks a life threatening indigestion?"
Another added, "He should really stop saying he will take electrocution."
One user mocked, "This is 'presidential material'" while another said, "Don’t think he’ll have a choice….." alongside a meme featuring Trump and 'Finding Nemo' shark Bruce.

Donald Trump previously said he 'not a big fan of sharks'
Nearly three years before his latest speech, Trump revealed that he was not a fan of sharks.
The former President was reportedly distracted by a mosquito flying in front of his face while speaking at a rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in 2020, the Independent reported.
He also said that he wanted to "get that mosquito," adding, "I don’t like – they’ll say it’s cruelty to animals. I don’t know – no, it’s true!"
Trump then shifted his speech to talk about sharks and said, "They were saying the other night, the shark."
"They were saying, 'Sharks, we have to protect them'... I’m not a big fan of sharks," he continued.
"I have people calling me up, 'Sir, we wanted to – we have a fund to save the shark. It’s called save the shark.' I say 'No, thank you. I have other things I can contribute to,'" he added.
As per the publication, in her 2018 memoir, Stormy Daniels also alleged that Trump often spoke about how much he hated sharks and would not mind if they all died during their alleged relationship in 2006.
