HBO’s ‘The New Pope’ is leaving no stone unturned to ensure it offers viewers a finale that’s going to leave them amazed. Episode 8 was nothing but a testament to the creators’ brilliance, who most articulately interlaced one too many intrigues.

Paolo Sorrentino’s latest installment ran high on emotions, showcasing the death of Girolamo Matera (Edoardo Bussi) and its impact on his guardian and the Secretary of the State Cardinal Angelo Voiello (Silvio Orlando).

The series, which was until now subjected to immense criticism for its never-ending display of blasphemy, is being praised by fans on social media for emphasizing the power of love in its latest episode. Of all the mind-boggling aspects presented in episode 8, Voiello’s eulogy for his dear friend Giralamo has the fans grabbing for tissues.

A fan wrote, “The eulogy that Voiello gave for Girolamo brought me to tears. Great writing, great acting.”

“The monologue by Silvio Orlando's Voiello in tonight's #TheNewPope was incredible. Powerful. Emotional. Moving. All of the above. A huge part of a spectacular cast,” another added.

A few of them who are heaping praise on Silvio Orlando for his exceptional acting think he “has to be nominated for an Emmy & Golden Globe @HBO #hbo hes the best”

However, despite all the emotions thrown at them, a few fans of Jude Law couldn’t take their eyes off his bare buttocks, which was put on the display once again in Episode 8.

“First, no more Converse store at my outlet mall and now next week is the last episode of #TheNewPope. How am I going to live without Jude Law’s luscious butt on my TV screen every week?” expressed one fan.

“Okay on top of keeping the cigarette in my boobs, I’m going to have to start hanging around in emptied out pools— just in case,” quipped another fan, referring to the scene where Pius XIII is seen standing in the middle of a pool bearing it all while staring at his sacred attire.

‘The New Pope’ airs on Mondays on HBO.
