It looks like happy roommates Gus (David Jonsson) and Robert (Harry Lawtey) may not continue to be as friendly as before if we go by the promo of the upcoming episode of 'Industry' released by HBO. In an interview with MEAWW previously, actor Harry Lawtey who plays Robert in the show had revealed that his character is so happy to have reached this point where he is employed by Pierpoint that he begins to celebrate prematurely without realizing that his friends are also his rivals at work. He had said, "Robert is a people person. He is almost too engaged in his social life and suffers for it in his career. He has worked so hard to even reach this point, that now he wants to celebrate before he’s even crossed the finish line. He doesn’t understand that these new friends he’s made are also his rivals."

In hindsight, it looks like this is a reference to Gus and Robert's relationship because until now, the two had been good friends. Close enough to realize that Gus was gay and that he had an affair with a second-year resident at Pierpoint. However, the promo of the upcoming episode sees Gus getting tired of Robert's social lifestyle — of partying and the drugs — and tells him that their life is not a party. Gus is also under pressure since learning that his team will be absorbed into another team after Hari's untimely death. Gus, Yasmin, Harper, and Robert are not permanent employees yet and they are all competing with many others for the only six spots available to become a permanent employee. So we understand Gus' emotions here. However, will Robert realize that he still has a way to go about before he begins celebrating?

This scene and the anger that Robert expresses in the video or his comments about if he should "suck" Gus off after a tough day at work also had the audience wondering if he was gay. Some fans speculated that Robert was in the closet and mentioned that Yasmin might end up being dragged into the mix as well if she were to continued to take her flirtations seriously. For instance, one fan shared, "She had to 'degrade' that bf of hers a bit since he 'degraded' her twice at the beg of the show, but we know she’s gonna sign up to be degraded by another closeted gay dude using her as straight 'cloak' very soon! #IndustryHBO."

Another fan commented, "Robert and Harper are going to f**k... Also Yasmin and Robert eventually..#IndustryHBO." This fan then added, "Yasmin's manager is a misogynistic piece of s**t. #IndustryHBO." To this she was responded with, "I don’t trust that Yasmin girl one bit!" The same fan also added, "Both these idiots will impale themselves on that gay fraud of Robert. It’s a trainwreck!" This is the fan who seemed extremely convinced. Also, actor Lawtey had mentioned that what awaits Robert and his friends is a lot of controversies. Is this one of them?
