Those who caught the finale of 'Hawkeye' were in for quite a shock. After teasing and subsequently showing Kingpin/Wilson Fisk (Vincent d'Onofrio) in the Disney+ series, the final few minutes of the episode see Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) reportedly shooting Kingpin, giving the assumption that the character actually died. The question is whether she actually killed him as the audience hears a deafening shot and the screen cuts to the next scene.

The episode sees Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) take on Kingpin and his Tracksuit mafia, while also battling Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) who was on the hunt for Barton. Kate, in the meantime, attempts to rescue her mother and runs into Fisk. The duo engages in bloody combat only for Kate to get the better of the villain by using one of the trick arrows rendering him unconscious. In the final minutes, he is shown to have made a getaway only to come face-to-face with Maya, who realizes the truth that she was being played all the while. She points a gun at Fisk and while we hear a shot, it's still unclear who shot whom.

Fans took to Twitter to share their two cents on the sequence. "KingPin was wasted, Yelena and Clint’s conversation was wasted. why does it still feel like Natasha and Clint have more between them that we’ll never see? Episodes 1-5, perfect. Episode 6, rewrite it. do it again," read one of the tweets. "Spoiler For Hawkeye Episode 6!!! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If Kingpin is actually dead after finally being introduced to the MCU I'll be so pissed off!!!." wrote another.

"The reality is that the end of Ep 5 hyped Kingpin up to be this terrifying FORCE. Fans of Daredevil will know why, but according to Episode 6 of Hawkeye he's a big man with a bunch of idiots working for him. Oooh scary." This was seconded by another who wrote, "#Hawkeye #HawkeyeFinale SPOILERS EPISODE 6 FINALE i’m sorry but ain’t no way Kingpin is actually dead for sure he’s gonna come back next season and that end scene was so underwhelming, like rlly? the fucking musical again?"

"Hawkeye episode 6 was really good for the first 25 - 30 minutes but it felt very rushed, definitely would’ve been better if marvel did maybe 8 episodes Yelena and Kate need more interactions cause that’s one of the best parts when they meet, was nice seeing kingpin… yeah," a fan opined.
