Did Kim Jong-un execute two people to stop Covid-19 spread? Seoul spy agency says he shut down Pyongyang too

North Korea has also banned fishing and salt production at sea to stop seawater from getting contaminated by the virus, according to the agency

North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un has reportedly ordered to execute at least two people executed, banned fishing at sea and locked down the capital, Pyongyang, as part of the safety efforts to guard the country against the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic damage, South Korea’s spy agency told lawmakers on Friday, November 26.

Ha Tae-keung, an official, who was briefed by National Intelligence Service, said Kim has been lashing out with “excessive anger” and taking “irrational measures” in recent weeks due to Covid-19. Kim has allegedly murdered his high-profile Pyongyang money changer, last month, along with a key official, after they violated safety regulations about imported goods in August. Neither of the victims was identified.

North Korea has also banned fishing and salt production at sea to stop seawater from getting contaminated by the virus, the NIS told lawmakers. Kim has also placed the city of Pyongyang and northern Jagang province under lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19  and had a South Korean pharmaceutical company hacked to discover secrets regarding the Covid-19 vaccine it was developing, officials said.

One social user wrote, "Killing people to save them from the virus, hmm. Sorry Kim, Trump is already trying that." Another one asked, "How the hell did COVID-19 even find its way into North Korea?" Mkaing speculations some wrote, "He probably executed them when they do not quarantine or wear masks," and "I heard (totally heresay...I never researched it) that he executed those that tested positive, in the early days of covid."

One suggested that Kim went "too far" with this, and wrote, "Efficiency without morals leads to absolute efficiency in dealing with crisis at great cost and inhumanity. Morals without efficiency causes the opposite. If this is true, Kimmy boi is getting too far on one end of the spectrum." Feeling sad for the people who allegedly got executed, another one said, "My God, those poor people.. Have they not suffered enough under Trump's BFF??"

One person sarcastically said, "Trump mutters to himself, “Why didn’t I think of that?”" Another one joked, "Can we put him in charge of our #COVID19 response? He sounds kinder than the current people in charge." Retweeting the news, another one quoted, "There must be a Corona-adjacent virus affecting dictators & dictator-wannabes, it seems I mean, how else would you explain Trum and Kim’s identical behaviors?" While one wrote, "Wow!! Now that’s a way to cull out anti-maskers! Trumps Bromance Kim just has them executed!"
